Wanna be a hunk Hi all, Its Allen Aka Nerin... Right now I am 17 5'9 and 150lbs, Not really a lot of muscle on me but I am starting to think about working out and I really wanna get built. I started lifting when I was 18, though I always wish I'd started sooner and knew then what I know now. Since you are just beginning lifting, you should be able to make some great gains, so long as you train consistently and most importantly, eat right. There are some great bodybuilding and nutrition guides on Amazon.com as well as on bodybuilding websites such as Bodybuilding.com. Though I started lifting when I was 18, my biggest progress didn't come until I actually started eating right a year or two later, so be sure you don't leave out that part of the equation! - fleXodus |

Allen: You'll be surprised what you can fit on a 5'9" frame. Look forward to hearing your progress. Just make sure you're consistent, progressive, and avoid injuries. At your age I was 6'2" 160 now many years later I'm 235 pounds with 51c34w18a. If I could put on muscle anybody can. |

That's fuckin hot muscle_d. How was it like to go through that transformation? And have you ever run into anybody who only knew the "smaller" you? I'm hoping to hit my 10 year high school reunion (all the way in 2008) at at least 225... I was 145 in high school and 180 now (5'6")... so I'm definitely looking forward to freaking some folks out. - flex Quote:

Hey Flex...I gotta tell you that it's a total turn on. Just recently went to a family reunion and there were lots of relatives I hadn't seen in many years. Most didn't even recognize me and when they found out who I was...man...it was too funny. You have to also know that besides being a tall and skinny as a younger man I was also pretty shy and bookish...which meant I was a target for a lot of shit. Now that I'm not so little and definately no longer shy...I love intimidating all the arrogant assholes out there that once used to bug me. |

Hmm... No offence to you Muscle_d, but if you are now "intimidating" the arrogant assholes who use to pick on you, dosn't that mean you have done nothing more then turned into one of them yourself? I mean nothing against you and I hope the people who picked on you get whats coming to them, But why add more wood to the fire, ya know? __________________ Nerin |

interesting resonse...maybe I wasn't clear enough...I don't go around picking on guys especially guys who look and act like I once did...quite the opposite, I stick up for them...When I say intimidate I mean for example things like telling arrogant assholes in the gym to quiet down when they're bugging people around them. The point I was trying to make in response to Flex was that bodybuilding not only changes your appearance but also effects your attitude and confidence. |
| |||
Well Well, thats good that you stick up for ppl And it hasn't really changed my personality or attitude at all yet... And my arms have gotten pretty big already, I can't pull my sleeves up my arms anymore hehe... I hope I stay the same after I am big enough __________________ Nerin |

Hi Nerin. I have one word for you: consistency! If I had stuck to my training, contenting myself with small, incremental changes to my body, I'd be a monster right now. But I fell into a pattern of lifting with great enthusiasm for a while, then getting distracted and stopping; then starting at square one again. Despite that, I have managed to put on a lot of size - there was a time when I weighed 90 lbs less than I do now! - but I still kick myself when I think of what might have been. Do you realize that most of the biggest bodybuilders are your height or shorter? Height is no advantage in bodybuilding; just the opposite in fact. If you mean you are light-boned, that can be an advantage too, in terms of aesthetics; the smaller your joints are, the bigger everything else looks! It's all about proportions. Best of luck to you. Keep lifting! Bull |

Stick at it Nerin. It all pays off in the end. __________________ am on msn: [email protected] |

Cool Nerin! You know, you've got a great face and you'll be amazing with some build on you. Have you started yet? You should because it's the beginning when the gains are the easiest. What's your goal for the end of the summer? I'd recommend not focusing on getting lean or cut because my biggest mistake when I was 150 was never eating enough. Don't eat fat, but do eat lots of protein. Eggs, low fat cottage cheese, salmon, tuna, chicken, whey powder. In particular, I recommend a big bowl of cottage cheese each night before you go to bed. Your body does most of its growing while you sleep, so feed it! |
