Well, we still have quite a ways to go in his presidency but so far I think he is handling things pretty well. I don't think the republican party is going to be able to push a moderate candidate out but we'll see.

Yeah so far he is handling it well... the whole BP fiasco is putting him under the magnifying glass though. Hope he gets through it intact. And more to the point, I hope mother earth does to.

In late 2006 (if my memory recalls) I believe that most pollsters suggested it would be a three way battle between Guilani and Romney (GOP), Clinton and Obama (Dem) with Nader and an Independent which the GOP would win by a landslide. It's miles too early to know who will stand in 2012

I hope they put up Sarah Palin because it will secure victory for the democrats :P She's popular now because her positions don't matter. As soon as she goes back under the spotlight everyone realizes how little her political knowledge is and her little games are not cute at all.

If it's Palin (or some Palinesque wannabe), I will either leave planet Earth, or alternatively figure out a way of wiping out all forms of life in the United States except amoebas who might very well be the most intelligent forms of life on that continent.
