Although I cant deny its obvious merits, the writers personal tastes is much too different from those of mine and the one thing I cherrish is my personal flavour on each single work of mine. I also infor, you that the final chapter for this story is done and just needs some final adjustments but it will be posted eventually. I hope you enjoy such ALTERNATE version but please dont take this chapter as the continuation of THE CURSE because this writer is just expressing his own fantsies. I am proud that any work of mine could inspire another writer but this story is not mine at all.

This story is an unauthorized version of what might have happened next in the story THE CURSE as muscl4life so succinctly points out. Therefore I have changed my ending so that my story might more easily blend with his. It was by no means my intention to steal his story or characters but actually meant as a compliment to an exceptional story. His story was an inspiration for mine.

I sincerely apologize for this transgression.

You actually don?t need to change your story; it would be just an alternate version, which I totally agree with. So when the real thing is posted people won?t be confused. There is a precedent in the forum for stories that are set in the universes, and using characters created by other writers... It was set by Absman420 series of "PLAYING WITH ------'s TOYS:" stories.

The key point was that these are stories that were clearly tagged as being the work of another writer and exist as an alternate reality that may diverge from that created by the original writer.

Agreed, in the absence of any guidance regarding the author's/authors' position on such matters.

Authors, you have the power to be proactive on this issue, and to provide explicit guidance to anyone interested in working with your stories/characters. I would urge anyone and everyone posting their work to this (or any other) site to consider selecting a specific Creative Commons license under which to release it, and to include a link to the license deed with each story/installment you post.

By explicitly licensing your work, you make your position on such matters crystal-clear, without requiring that you be contacted for approval each time someone is inspired by one of your stories. (Unless, of course, you wish to be, and include instructions along those lines. Possibly alongside a restrictive license, explicitly disallowing any re-use of your work without your prior approval.)
