Wow, I get the first post this time...

Lorna must not be as smart as I gave her credit for... I was sure she would have had a second camera man for the "My car is stuck in the ditch setup". But someone around town must have video of Alec pulling cars out of a ditch.

But she is probably smart enough to check out Alex's friends and will find Frank and Sammy, and that Frank just had an incredible grow spurt over Christmas break... Two gay giants in a small Nebraska town will get people talking. Hopefully Courtney's growth won't be noticed since he doesn't stand out in a crowd (yet) like Alex and Frank do, but he is a known associate of Alex.

Why are you using the real name of Judy Garland's younger sister for your news harpie?
It's messing with my mind. I keep seeing the celebrity/broadway starlet instead of whatever the description was you gave of her.

Yeah, the Lorna Luft thing...however, I think she is the daughter of Judy Garland and half-sister of Liza Minelli. Just sayin'. Other than that, this is a great series. I look for updates every day. It's like Alex and Ryan are friends of mine.

I think Lorna Luft is the PERFECT name for an assiduous and bitchy anchorwoman. I really hate her. She will use and doctor footage just to mould Alex into an image for the media that will bolster her own career without a thought for the damage it might do to him. The sooner you get him and Ryan off to Miami and into speedos the better.

I just read the last seven chapters in one sitting! I like the way you take the story in one direction, then another, leaving several threads lying around that you could pick up again at any time. That deep background is a big part of what keeps me reading this story. Right now I'm sitting here wondering what is going on between Frank and Jason even though they haven't been mentioned since Chapter 14. I suspect that they're fooling around behind Sammy's back, and when Sammy gets angry, everybody gets hurt.

I have to admit that I, too, was distracted by the name Lorna Luft. I'm curious - did you know there was a person by that name when you started using it? Did you consider Lorna Doone? Inquiring minds want to know!

I thought it was a made-up name! Honest!

I find coming up with names for characters to be a real challenge. If I don't work at it, they all start to sound the same and not reflect the real-world diversity you find even in a little town in Nebraska.

I'm glad you like the multiple story lines-- it makes it a lot more fun for me, too. I just hope I don't have more than I can handle by the end of the story.

By the way, is "prolificacy" a real word?

Okay, I believe you thought it was a made-up name. But to prevent any further distractions, the following character names should be avoided: Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler and Roddy McDowall.
