A few ideas...

I had a few story ideas actually, so I thought I'd put them all in one thread:

A story about a guy who criticizes people with big muscles on a regular basis. Some supernatural entity (or a bodybuilder with witch powers, whatever), gets tired of it, and decides to teach him a lesson by putting a curse on him so that every time time he makes a comment, his body becomes more developed.

I recently read a fantasy novel about elves and how their strength is directly dependent on the distance they are from their tree (if they were right next to it, they could lift virutally anything). How about a story about a guy whose muscles grow based on how close he is to something (or someone)?

A story about a guy who comes from a family where the men are all skinny geeks, unless the guy in question happens to be gay, in which case they grow into a massive bodybuilder the instant they come out of the closet (true gay feelings, they can't just say "I'm gay" and grow). Of course, this factor is kept to a minimum by the fact that all the straight guys try to keep their male children sheltered in the hopes that if they do indeed have feelings, they never surface...

A story about a guy who is a skinny geek by day, but turns into a huge bodybuilder at night (why, I couldn't come up with).

That's something I've never heard of before. As for an application to a story you could use two elements for that. Either a bench press in a gym (where he can lift 10,000lbs for reps) or something far more unusual say a bodybuilding video

That book wasn't by any chance written by a Piers Anthony, would it?

Yup, that particular device is very common in the Xanth books of Piers Anthony.

Those are all pretty novel ideas for MG stories--and they're not creepy either! Hopefully someone uses them because they sound really good.
