I think the movie with the caveman that you referenced is actually a 50's-60's movie about a college teacher who is cut by a coelecanth and causes him to revert to a neanderthal and he kills people. A werewolf kind of story that was made after the discovery that the coelecanth was not in fact extinct as once was thought. |

That movie is called "Monster on the Campus." There's an article on it here. |

I remember it vividly: I was at my babysitter/friend's house, and her son was watching Dragonball [I assume Z, who knows. It was before all the rest of them] and some dude, I think it was Goku, was powering up or something, but his muscles kept bulging bigger and bigger. It was slow growth, though, because it took like... half an episode it felt like. And I remember one of the other characters was saying that he was getting too powerful and he might die, or something to that effect. Haha, maybe not so vividly. I can still see it in my head, but I can't for the life of me describe it. I've also never been able to find the episode. |

Sinbad the sailor! While some Superman comic books were available here, Sinbad Jr. was transmitted on TV, and I was mesmerized as a kid. I see it has been mentioned before, so I bring the extra value of the clip: It seems full episodes are only available in non-english (usually called siMbad jr). Here's one, with more linked on the "suggestion" sidebar: __________________ . My morphs can be found here: http://www.musclegrowth.org/forum/sh...ad.php?t=19127 |

My first memory of muscle growth or growth in general, was when I was 13. I was watching an old cartoon, possibly film. It was similar to the style of animation of the original He-man. It was about 4 fantasy characters and a witch. Each of the characters had different abilities. From what I remember there were creatures, 2 male 2 female. They were after a gem that had the power to increase there strength. Each time they would grow. I don't have a great memory but It looked like anime in drawing style. It definatley wasn't British. If anyone knows that would be a great help. I also use to watch mighty max which had a muscle growth scene in. Great thread by the way. |

My first was the old Incredible Hulk with Lou Ferrigno. Even as a kid in elementary school I remember being sent home from a neighbor's house and thinking that she just wanted to watch it alone (and wishing I could watch it alone too! though I think I didn't have any idea what I might do). After that it was the milk commercial where the kid grows tall then turns into a bodybuilder, then his head turns into a balloon and he floats away. And by the time the Sega Genesis was out with Altered Beast, I knew that people becoming muscular was something that turned me on. |

Wow, Sinbad Jr. is hot! V-taper city, and biceps! In that second clip, the shorter of the two villains robbing banks with a UFO (huh?) ;D really reminds me of an evil version of Fred Flintstone's boss at the rock quarry. One that I haven't seen mentioned here- somewhere in the 80's was a TV movie of the Addams Family. I think it was a Halloween special. For some reason there were two huge bodybuilders in it for like one minute- a white guy and a black guy. They were so amazingly bulgy. Why they were there, I have no recollection... __________________ -UrGaath |

For me it was the movie Space Jam. I am not sure it was the first ever muscle growth I had seen, but man, watching those little alien dudes turn into giant muscle beasts is something I still consider hot today. Even if it is just a cartoon. |

Huh. How did I never see this thread before? Thanks for the thread necromancy! I just went and read it all the way through, and nobody has mentioned this one yet (although it wasn't my first sighting): there was an episode of the Real Ghostbusters where Ray inherited a shop from an uncle, which was filled with magician props and joke items. There was a box which he opened, which turned out to have contained a couple of gremlin-y creatures which wanted to play pranks. Each time they played a prank, they would do something that involved a symmetrical motion (I sort of recall that once they gave each other high fives, and once they smacked their hips against each other). Each time, they got bigger. For a little while, the growth was attractive -- but then the animators decided that they should be monsters, so they started going goon-ish. Edit: Huh. With the help of Wikipedia and Youtube, I found this, and it's a lot less interesting -- and coherent -- than I remembered. The growth isn't even specific to the high-five stuff. Pfui. In addition to the Hulk, I remember a tv-movie-special of Wild, Wild West where the bad guy has "the hulk brothers" as his henchmen. They were hot early 80s (I think) bodybuilders with green body paint on. I also saw "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes 2" on some late night movie show and the mad doctor (the actor who played Gomez on Addams Family) makes more killer tomatoes but this time he turns them into 70s Bodybuilders with porn mustaches and uses them as troops. That was by far the highlight of the movie. I think George Clooney was in AotKT2. |

I'm somewhat of a newcomer to the muscle growth thing (at least compared to all of you), my first real exposure to growth was the Incredible Hulk animated series in the mid-nineties. I was in elementary school then, but it really REALLY stuck with me. The latest standalone Hulk movie in 2008 really sold me, now I can't get enough. |
