Advice, help me grow!
Hey-
I am a college student who is looking to get jacked! I have been workin out since late Janurary. I am looking for workout advice, suppliments anything to help me get huge. Can you guys help? This is a picture of my bicep. What do you think so far? [IMG]bicep.jpg[/IMG] |

Hey there,
Simple advice if you want to get bigger is eat, eat, eat, and workout 'til your heart's content. Make a little time for yourself to hit the weights almost everyday, or, every other day and create a good workout routine. Use weights that feel heavy enough to you at first that they will give you a good workout, but not soo heavy that you'll hurt yourself. When the weight starts to feel too light, you "graduate" to heavier and larger weights, and so on. Riding a bicycle is also good for increasing leg mass. Especially mountain biking. A site you might also want to check out for advice is the forum at http://www.steroidology.com . They're more than just roids, in fact, the people there seem to have the best workout and exercise advice on the web whether you're a beginner, novice, or pro. In fact, it's rather surprising how many people on there don't even do what the site's name suggests. First off college boy, thanks for posting pics. Few people are willing to do that. This post isn't meant to be negative. I can tell you take your body seriously and you are interested in feedback.
I want to second the comments that polomuscle made--I am not going to repeat them just read that message carefully. You said that you want to get jacked. Someone also said you weigh 190 and are 5"6'. Your progress picts show size gain but to be frank a lot of it is not lean mass. You are not looking jacked. You need to accept some size loss now and lower your body fat percentage and then rebulk up. The more excess fat you start with when bulking the more fat relative to lean muscle you will gain. That is what your progress pics show to me--size gains but far more fat relative to lean mass. If you seek pure size, keep doing what you are doing. But I would consider making a change now because I think it will pay off larger dividends in the future. Also remember that this just my opinion...if you disagree, think you look great, jacked, whatever then by all means continue. You must be happy in your own skin irrespective of what others think. I only offer this critique because you directly asked. |

hey guys I do appreciate the feedback more then you know. Just to update you I am sorry I didn't put this in my new pics. But I am not concentrating more on tone, which might appear why I look maybe a bit bigger? I am concentrating on lifting more reps with lighter weights and cardio! So I am taking you advice.

Very good growth in a short period of time, buddy! Keep doing what you are doing; just throw in a few changes to shake things up some. Love the way that chest and those arms are beefing up!

Yup, I think I even see some abs making it known that they are definitely on the way. We can see the separations (no doubt your pecs and traps are probably starting to show in your t-shirts)
