Amazon Gym Shropham Norfolk

I am just wondering if there are any forum members out there who are also members of the truly excellent Amazon Gym at Shropham in Norfolk.

Thank you for assuming the role of Hall Monitor, Maverick, it's always a good thing to see newbies put in their place! Because, y'know, it's just totally squickening to see a totally innocuous "hey, does anyone live around here" as in the Stories section. The nerve!

xoxo

Richard

PS:

I've seen racier ads for orphaned puppies!

Thank you, Maverick. We've already strayed away from muscle growth, so it'd be nice to at least keep posts in their respective sub-forums. I go to the stories section to read stories.

Lol, touch?. The last one was in November though! Still too long of a wait? I'm working on stuff all the time but have a very strict standards department. Shouldn't be too much longer though

I seem to recall that in the past, someone would move threads as necessary. Could that perhaps be done here?

Why not post a story here about the Amazon Gym in Shropham Norfolk?

Maybe it contains the reincarnations of Robin Hood and his Merry Men!

Or is that somewhere else in Britain?

Hey Celtic Muscle, what is Norfolk known for? Anne Boelyn? Shipyards? Something about WWII (or is that most of Britain)?

Whatever it is, that could be the basis of a story!

Mdlftr,
Just being a p*tz.....

Usually a forum has a number of moderators that do moderations like moving topics but this forum is one of the few ones around that don't. You just have the site admin and he's usually not around.

With Robin Hood I believe you're thinking more of Nottingham. Norfolk is a lovely bit of merry olde England though. Certainly worth a visit. I'm always more interested in Hercules Gym in Colechester. There's some big lads there. And it was the former capital of Roman Britain. I'm sure there's a story there with some centurions in it.

The only thing I can find close to the gym's location is the the legend of the Abandoned Babes (which is the basis for the British pantomime "Babes in the Wood") an outline of which can be found here

As to other legends in Norfolk that could lend theimselves to a story, the only possibility I can see is The Fiddler, the Alchemist and the Black Monk which comes from Binham Priory in the north of the county and has the following:

Quote:
William de Somerton, who lived in the 13th century, was one of the worst offenders. He was very keen on alchemy (an early form of chemistry), which was considered to be like sorcery or magic in those days. William was desperate to discover the secret of turning ordinary metals into gold and spent a great deal of money on his experiments. To raise money, he sold off the Priory's chalices, gold rings, silver cups and spoons. Not quite what you would expect of a holy man! By the time he had finished, the Priory had a debt of ?600, a very large sum in those times.
I dare say that it wouldn't take too much imagination to say that in a fit of desperation he throws everything together and causes an explosion that covers him in the mixture and over the course of a few days he gets more and more muscular.

But getting back to the cause, why is everyone so annoyed about what is clearly a genuine mistake. bigdave was trying to find people to train with him at the gym and everyone has come out against him for what is a simple mistake.

As it is now understood, alchemy was in fact a search for the Holy Grail, with "lead" and "gold" being euphemisms for the various states of personal purification required in the alchemical process. I'm sure that on this forum, this golden state would involve plenty of massive muscle growth. I suppose we should take this to the story ideas section...
