Eh, figured I'd post this outta curiosity.

Where has everyone gotten their usernames from? I'd tell you my story, but I'm too lazy too right now.

Still too lazy to post the full story, but here's the quickie version.

In 5th grade I realized I could remember things much better then anyone I knew.
In 7th grade I gave my memory a silly name: Motionpicturagraphictoricalmemory.
Halfway thru 7th grade my friends gave me the nickname of MM.
By 9th grade the entire school (high school, not jr. high anymore) added 'The' on the beginning and "TheMM" was born.

Perhaps with a few more posts (2-4) I'll tell the whole story.

Simple, yet simplistic

Mine is more than a nod to the Star Trek series of the same name. They were looking for their way 'home' in the series. I guess I am trying to find my 'home' in many senses as well.

I'm known as LeatherGryphon other places.

I used to be LeatherGryphon here a couple of years ago but lost my password for that name during mail account changes. To make a long story short. I couldn't get LeatherGryphon back so I wimped out and created LG2005

Leather = my fetish and attitude

Gryphon = my tattoos and favorite beastie. Gryphons are strong, intelligent and staunch defenders of the gentile.

Ender ....

aka Andrew Wiggin, nick named Ender by his older sister Valentine when she had trouble pronouncing Andrew... His birth was "requisitioned" by the International Fleet after both his older brother Peter and sister each test to be perfect candates for the Battle School program but were later judged unsuitable but for opposite reasons

The Ender nick name stuck with Andrew into school and he took it with him to Battle School when he was commissioned at age ~8... He went willing to escape the torments and death threat of his brother Peter although since he had been conceived by government order he really didn't have a choice....

If you want to know the complete story of Ender, Battle School, Peter, Val and the rest check the "Ender Saga" starting with the classic (soon to be motion picture maybe) "Ender's Game" and the concurrent "Ender's Shadow" the same events as "Ender's Game" but from the point of view of the understudy that Ender didn't know he had until it was over... All the Enderverse books are by Orson Scott Card.

family names

For me Chimewolf is what i'm called by my family.
We have normal names but no one in my family uses them when we are talking to each other. For example my sister is called goatfish.

How I got the name, no clue.

Mine was created out of my addiction to comic collecting, back in 1994. I needed to create a username for my very first e-mail account, in Hotmail, and I really didn't had any idea of what.

In a moment of inspiration, I had some comics on my hands, and I noticed how the names of the companies shared similar letters:

IMA from Image Comics
MARV from Marvel Comics
VAL from Valiant Comics
and, not wanting to leave out DC Comics, I put the letters at the beginning and the end...

And so, DIMARVALC was born

It has been, and it will always be, my identity on the web, for every account or service I have or will subscribe to.

This is fun. Keep it going, guys...

Dreamforge is on a distinguished road
The Dreamforge was a brand name I made up when I wanted to brand the projects I came up with in College. When I made up my later business moniker, I actually "mergered" the two together before I stuck with the later one. I eventually used the Dreamforge as a setting in a story of mine and I've recycled the idea in other projects ever since.

Rairf is the mascot for my alma mater, backwards. (Friar). Entirely uncreative, but for some reason reminds me of my identity while maintaining my anonymity. Remember: girls don't like muscle- right? *note* I'm not trying to spark a discussion with that last comment, it's been done on other threads. It explains my POV.

Aikuchi is on a distinguished road
---

Aikuchi

It began as a reference to the lesser known companion (sister) weapon to the katana. Although the more popular blade of choice was the tanto. The aikuchi blade was considered acceptable as well as slim and light enough to conceal and carry on its own.

... until someone asked me if it meant "Love-mouth".

Hilarity and laughter follows, and I kept the username.

Wynfrith - (Roman Catholic Church) Anglo-Saxon missionary who was sent to Frisia and Germany to spread the Christian faith; was martyred in Frisia (680-754)

However, I chose it for it's rough translation (that I cannot currently substantiate, making me doubt myself) meaning "Your friend, always".

Reference to Loveless, the manga
I've used Fearless and Sleepless in other forums where they've seemed appropiate, I used Breathless here because a) good muscle growth/worship stories should have that effect and b) working out leaves you breathless =B
I've never used loveless. waaaaaay too emo.

Mine's bastardized French for clothed muscles (my French is very rusty). Clothing stretched incredibly tight over a muscular frame is just as hot to me as a muscleman in the nude.
