looking to grow

hey, long time lurker first time poster.

Im looking to add on some muscle for the new year, but because of limited budget (college student) I was wondering you all knew of any excersizes I can do without gym equipment. I cannot afford a gym membership and definately cant afford a home gym. Looking to add muscle to arms and pecs, abs are already good enough. Any suggestions would be great.

Start with pushup variations to work your pecs, shoulders and triceps (wide grip pushups for delts and chest, narrow grip pushups for tris)

You can also do pushups with your feet elevated to work your upper pecs more.

Wide grip chins will work your lats and biceps; shoulder width chins with your palms facing you will work biceps more directly.

I would suggest going to Target, Walmart, Kmart, Big Lots or one of those close-out stores and look for cheap dumbbells. Maybe 5's, 10's, 15's and 20's to get you started. They seem to be pretty cheap. Lots of exercises for upper body there: chest, back, delts, arms.

If not, a friend of mine took milk jugs and filled them with sand. Make your own weights. I think he could get them as heavy as 10. Fill a paper bag with sand and put it on the scale to create the different weights. Mark each jug and use it as a dumbbell.

As far as leg exercises, you can do many with just bodyweight as long as you have some kind of sturdy box or bench. Let me know if you want to find out about leg exercises. I'm written out at the moment.
