Croft Update He's vacationing in the UK....seeing family for the first time in two+ years. Think anybody will notice a difference???? |

Keep at it! Looking GREAT! Hey achilles, Man you're on your way to becoming a BEAST! I've gained a lot of mass myself. Now up to 320 lbs.! Feels good but I better cap my gains to around 330 lbs. then start removing flab around my gut. I have a huge powerlifter build now. Guess I'm a BEAST as well. Anyway, all the best. Look forward to seeing your progress. Stay strong! __________________ strongman2006 5'6", 310 lbs., 54" ch, 21.5" a, 20" neck, 30" quads, 19.5" calves "I'm NOT a person anymore ... 20-inch gun heaven Hi guys! It's been a strange couple of months - first I was feeling down and lost after my UK trip, as I struggled to get back into the routine of bodybuilding / lifting / growing. Work was busy, and traction was hard to come by. At first, I thought my days of getting huger were numbered... This last month though, things have taken off like a rocket again... very much so. People have been telling me I'm looking bigger than ever again for a little while, people I talk to have been staring at my arms again when they speak to me rather than my face So I knew things were going well. I knew my diet and training were right. I knew I'd been growing again. Today, 8:25am in the gym locker-room, I wrapped the tape-measure around my arm, flexed, adjusted tight, looked down and saw the magnificent figure of... 20 inches ! People have been asking me ever since I achieved 19" arms last year when that was going to be - and the answer is now, sooner, so sooner than I expected. This is crazy. I feel like a muscle-balloon again.The feeling of my guns straining against the sleeves of my XL work-shirt all day was... incredible. Onwards and upwards to 21" now. Damn.... I'll leave you with a couple new photos from the week: http://pics.livejournal.com/ccmuscle/pic/000510f4 http://pics.livejournal.com/ccmuscle/pic/000556ka More growth to come in the future :-) __________________ On YouTube @ http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=croftinnz ; Bodybuilding Blog @ http://ccmuscle.livejournal.com; Life Blog @ http://ccroft.livejournal.com -- Training Since: September 15th 2006 Muscle-lover Since: Birth! |

Lookin' swole there. There's something I"ve always wondered: can people with arms that big touch their own shoulder with their respective hand? |

Great work Achilles! |

It's a great feeling to feel as if you've conquered the weights to acheve your goals, isn't it? But you know, the gym always call us to the challenge, and we MUST heed and conquer. Yes, you'll see 21 inch guns in no time.. Keep us posted, and knock those weights DEAD! Ron IIII----IIII __________________ Any weight that does not defeat us makes us bigger! |

Hi folks, I know it's been awhile now since I gave an update, but truth is I took a much-needed break from the gym; I'd been training non-stop since 2006, (aside from the time I spent in England this January), and I burned out at the end of March. But I've returned to training and currently tearing up the weights (and hopefully some clothes too ) as I renew my ambition to move on to a bigger and better physique. My motivation, training and diet has never been better - in the last week I gained 10lb! So you should be seeing some new pics and progress stories very soon... Hope everyone's well! - Achilles aka Croftinnz __________________ On YouTube @ http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=croftinnz ; Bodybuilding Blog @ http://ccmuscle.livejournal.com; Life Blog @ http://ccroft.livejournal.com -- Training Since: September 15th 2006 Muscle-lover Since: Birth! |

Yay! Great to hear it, Charles! How much do you weigh now? And, yes, sometimes a good long break is what you need before moving to the next level! xoxo Richard |
| |||
10... in a WEEK?! Tips, dammit, tips! Or, alternatively, would you be able to post your current diet? :3 |
| |||
The big question is: 10 lbs. more than what? If Charles has added 10 lbs. over his max weight, that's incredibly impressive. If he's gained back 10 lbs. he lost between March and now, well, that's not as surprising as you might think. There are some bodybuilders who can put that much back on in a couple of days (the key, of course, being putting it "back on" after they've dieted down.) Either way, I wanna know how much. And I wanna see pix! xoxo Richard |
| |||
Welcome Back Thanks for the update. I'm delighted you're not only back on the forum but growing like a weed again. 10 pounds in one week? WOW....the magic is back. Please keep us posted on your progress. |

a few things first good transformation but so you know its physically impossiable to add 60lbs of muscle in one year naturally. it would be possiable if you used anabolics. hgh etc. and even then you would be very hard to push it. Professionaly bodybuilders who have a lot more knowledge cant even do that. So you know not hating but i think your time frame maybe be off somewhat. |

It was definitely a skinny to BIG transformation for me back then though. I loved every day of it! ;-) I'm still plugging away these days, trying my best to get to 300lb. Some day! __________________ On YouTube @ http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=croftinnz ; Bodybuilding Blog @ http://ccmuscle.livejournal.com; Life Blog @ http://ccroft.livejournal.com -- Training Since: September 15th 2006 Muscle-lover Since: Birth! |

Back for more - and this time I brought PIX! Just so y'all know what's been going on with me this year - I did take up some other pursuits for awhile (I did some acting from February through to June), and then pretty much just as I was getting back into the swing of things after the break, and made that post in July, I went and did something stupid - I bought (my first) HOUSE! I'm just kidding about the stupid bit. Owning my own home has been a goal of mine for a long time, and just as it has been with my transformation, when I want something, I go out and get it! But it certainly knocked my training out of sync again for awhile. The place is wonderful and will serve me as an ideal place to stage all my future endeavours from and build my body, and my life! However, it doesn't seem to have done me much harm (as the following pics are about to show). Training has been steady again for awhile now, and as I prepare to compete again in 2010, it really does feel like I'm about to make new ground. Within the next few months, I believe I'm going to be able to announce that I've passed another milestone - gaining 100lb from when I started three years ago! I'm so close now I can feel it! http://pics.livejournal.com/ccmuscle/pic/0005s677 http://pics.livejournal.com/ccmuscle/pic/0005twsx http://pics.livejournal.com/ccmuscle/pic/0005pz38 It'd be nice to get my arms from 20" to 21" before the comp too, but I'd be surprised if that happened. Then again, I've been surprised before! The rest of the body is in proportion, the arms are still the show-muscles though as you can tell Thanks for your support guys. It's still amazing me all this time later that I went from skinny to superman. The ultimate goal is to weigh TWICE my bodymass as when I started (310lb). Still a long way to go yet! __________________ On YouTube @ http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=croftinnz ; Bodybuilding Blog @ http://ccmuscle.livejournal.com; Life Blog @ http://ccroft.livejournal.com -- Training Since: September 15th 2006 Muscle-lover Since: Birth! The Plan! Greetings muscle-watchers and muscle-fans! I'm writing today to post my overall training plan as I head to the next competition, which will be August 2010. I started it October 11th: General Cycle: I am concentrating on mass-building and 'bulking up' for four months, ending this phase on February 20th 2010. From there I begin cutting for five months, finishing this phase on June 19th. At this point, I have this time scheduled a two month 'preparation' period before the comp, which I can use to achieve the right 'balance'; if I'm still not lean enough, I have extra time to cut, or more likely, after cutting I will have lost some muscle size and have a few weeks to go bigger again whilst staying lean. Ideally, come 19th June I'll be huge, lean and happy, and instead will have time to work on the finer details that will help me to win, even enjoy working on the posing routine. But the key thing is the 'buffer' I have between cutting and competing; last time I was cutting too late and ended up looking better after the comp. Bodypart Focus: During the mass-building phase, I am using the 'Priority Principle' to give certain bodyparts the focus for five weeks at a time. I have just finished the first of these (arms), and have now moved on to my chest. I got the arms done first so that it was 'out of my system' / something enjoyable to get me back into the swing of training again after my break, but indeed the principle works, and I am looking forward to developing areas I have considered needing more work before. The breakdown for the focus is this:
Of course, I'm training the whole body each week, but the focus training means giving these bodyparts that extra bit of help to really pack on size. If I have time, I will elaborate on exactly how this is done / my routines. Bodyweight Goals: During the mass-building cycle, I have a written set of bodyweight goals to help keep me focused and to see if I'm on the right track. Basically, the aim is to pack on 10lb a month. On Oct 11th at the start of training, I was 218lb. So the goalposts are / were:
Needless to say, I'm well on track. As of today (Nov 20th), I'm back to 237lb (and that's despite a cold which kept me from training / eating for four days). It feels like I've been growing like a muscle balloon at times! Very happy with that, and though it's going to get harder once I get over 240, I am so focused on this that I harbor hopes that I'll surpass 260 and finish this phase closer to 270. Probably not, but a boy can dream, can't he? I leave you with my latest progress pics; I'm wearing a purple shirt because I'm still horribly embarassed by my pale white skin. Who likes paleness? Not I. But purple is awesome. Am I right? As well as significant pec progress this week, my traps have exploded in size in the last couple of weeks though, which was unexpected. As I said somewhere else before, I don't expect my neck-chain to last much longer! Still such a long way to go though. http://pics.livejournal.com/ccmuscle/pic/0005xydt http://pics.livejournal.com/ccmuscle/pic/0005y05w http://pics.livejournal.com/ccmuscle/pic/0005wk5y __________________ On YouTube @ http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=croftinnz ; Bodybuilding Blog @ http://ccmuscle.livejournal.com; Life Blog @ http://ccroft.livejournal.com -- Training Since: September 15th 2006 Muscle-lover Since: Birth! |

Interesting time frame. If your contest is in august why are you doing a 5 month contest prep? the proble is you could peak to early or not get hard and lean enough. It would also depend on what federation ypu plan on competing in and at what level. Most competitors do either a 16 or 12 week cut . very few do a 20 week contest prep unless they are holding a ton of fat . I would suggest that you get your body fat checked during your bulk period. If it gets to far out of control then it could be a issue when you start your contest prep. if your bodybuilding its about building muscle not how much you get off season. You could get to 260+ but end up at a contest weight of 198. So one has to be careful with the weight ( bulk ) game. It has caught a lot of guys in the past and then they cant get the conditioning right |
| |||
Thanks for your advice BigJoey. I'm aware it's a little unorthodox, but this is the second contest prep I've done and I'm trying to apply what I learned about my metabolism / habits from the first comp. Last time I was 240lb offseason and competed at 196lb; I'm already at about the same weight now but leaner than I was then, so I do think by continuing the bulk I can continue building muscle. The aim is to compete closer to 220lb (or more); I'll be keeping tabs on my bodyfat % as I go to be sure. It's all a learning process __________________ On YouTube @ http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=croftinnz ; Bodybuilding Blog @ http://ccmuscle.livejournal.com; Life Blog @ http://ccroft.livejournal.com -- Training Since: September 15th 2006 Muscle-lover Since: Birth! |

What a transformation! I have been a fan for quite awhile now and hoping for a pre-contest video. Great to see you posting again and WOW!!!! |
| |||
Achilles, Wow! Quite an impressive transformation. I noticed your posts on FA, but then I found your thread here. Keep up the outstanding progression and good luck in your competing! |
| |||
shirt showing best advantage Wow! can't wait to see the video of you flexing out of that shirt! |
| |||
Looking great, Achilles....I'm glad to see your plans laid out. The purple shirt won't last any longer than your neck-chain! I hope you enjoy the contest preparation as you did last time. Thanks for sharing your progress with us. |

About time for an update, yes? :-) xoxo Richard |
