Whoa! That explains some stuff. But for some reason, I can't shake the feeling that by visiting that site, my account is in danger. If it's not though, that could possibly help in future times.

(Not blaming you Bigmuscle, I'm probably just being paranoid.)

But it's only 5 accounts, and every one of the posts in the old Off-Topic forum is from a unique account.

They're just random generators, and website lists get passed around from coder to coder.

Though why somebody isn't hostmask/IP banning them and let them overrun the forum is pretty hilarious.

Wow, a spammer actually posting in a thread about spammers. That takes some serious arrogance, and a major lack of a brain.

One thing that I can suggest to beef up the security is to force CAPTCHA on every reply/post made... That way it is virtually impossible for spambot to automate its postings unless the post is done manually humanly.

I know it's gonnabe slightly troublesome but by making sure that each post is genuinely posted by human with the challenge to answer a CAPTCHA when submitting the post away.

I agree with the suggestion for inserting CAPTCHA.

Never heard of it, but we need something. At this moment nearly every area of the forum is spammed!!!

We are working on figuring out the best ways to limit the spamming action, but whenever we implement a new procedure, the spambots find new ways to circumvent the CAPTCHA. Even though MySpace has it, I recently have gotten pornbots putting in friend requests there.
