[/COLOR] [COLOR=White]Dave and I met when we were about twelve or thirteen years old. We had just begun high school, and were both pretty much intimidated by this new world we had to face. When I first saw him, in a corner of the cafeteria, alone, I knew we were going to be good friends. We weren’t alike at all: I was a pretty big boy, not defined but big anyways, with pale brown hair and blue eyes, while he was small, scrawny, with black hair and eyes as dark as the night. Even though we were really different, we rapidly became great friends. We both are eighteen years old, now. I am still pretty big, and Dave is still pretty small… sorry, was still pretty small, until 6 months ago. That’s when our lives changed. Here is how it all began.[/COLOR][COLOR=White]

[/COLOR] [COLOR=White]Our first class of physical education had been a real pain in the ass; not to me, but to Dave. We had both chosen to be in a weight lifting class this semester, hoping we could get in better shape. At the beginning of the class, the teacher, Mr. Fortier, had asked us to measure our stats, so we could see, at some point (with the help of God) the progress we had made. I was pretty satisfied with my stats: I was 6 feet tall, weighted 170 healthy pounds, with 15 inches guns and a 34 inches waist. Not bad, but I still had a little fat to lose to look great. Dave, however, was quite disappointed: he was 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighted 120 pounds [/COLOR][COLOR=White]

We immediately bought two memberships at the school’s gym, and agreed that we would come there every day of the school week. We were both so excited that after school, that day, we went to the gym for our first training session. Dave wanted to gain muscle mass, while I wanted to lose fat and gain muscle mass, so we established that we would have to work with the notion of “hypertrophy”, a word we had just learned in weightlifting class, so our muscles could grow, but I would have to do cardio also. So, the range of reps to work in hypertrophy being somewhere between 8 and 12 reps, we tried to figure out what weight we could lift 12 times. Simple, no? I could curl a 70 pounds barbell for 3 series of 12 reps, while Dave could only curl 30 pounds. I could bench 200 pounds, and all he could bench was 120 pounds! We definitively had some work to do.[/COLOR][COLOR=White]

[/COLOR] [COLOR=White]For a whole month, we went working our together every single school day; and results began to show up. I did a lot of cardio, so I lost about 15 pounds of fat (yeah, that’s right) and gained about 5 of lean mass, so I weighted 160 pounds, with visible abs! I was so happy, you have no idea, even though my biceps were a tad smaller than before (14 ? inches) But you should have seen Dave; all he had done for a month was eating, lifting, and sleeping. I was surprised when I checked his stats: he had grown an inch, gained 10 pounds of lean mass, could curl a 45 pounds barbell with his now 12 ? inches biceps and bench 140 pounds. He was really making progress, and even though my lifts hadn’t gone up, I was really happy for him.[/COLOR][COLOR=White]

[/COLOR] [COLOR=White]After the second month, things started to get really different. Since I was really lean, I stopped doing cardio to focus on building muscle mass. At the end of the month, still at 6 feet tall, I weighted 175 pounds, thick and ripped, with 15 ? biceps, and a waist of 31 inches, and I could curl a 80 pounds barbell, while my bench had gone up by 15 pounds! Dave had made some great progress too, may be a little too much progress in so little time: now at 5 feet 10 inches tall, he weighted 145 pounds, was sporting 13 ? inches biceps with which he could curl a barbell of 55 pounds, and could now bench 160 pounds. Dave, who was sitting on his bed, looked at me, wondering where this sound was coming from, and when he looked to the other side of the room, not only the sound got louder, but I saw some of his skin… through the back of his shirt… OMG!!! Seeing that he was quite startled, I told him that we should go shopping for new clothes. At the en of that month, I weighted 182 pounds, had a little bigger than 16 inches biceps, could curl a 100 pounds barbell and bench 235 pounds. Dave’s progress, however, was even more astounding: still at 5 feet 10 inches tall, he now weighted 163 pounds, shredded to the bone, had almost 15 inches biceps, could curl a 70 pound barbell (gosh, he was getting strong!) and bench 185 pounds, with a 26 ? inches waist. Something really funny happened at the end of the fourth month: Dave and I were in the weightlifting class, waiting for the teacher. When the teacher finally came in, he looked at us and said: “Hey, you two, I don’t know you! You don’t have anything to do in my class!” After a moment, he realized his mistake and said, in front of everyone, that we were so big he though we weren’t even students! I was now 190 pounds, still at 6 feet tall, had 17 inches guns, a defined 6 pack, a 31 inches waist, I could curl a 115 pounds barbell and I could bench 255 pounds. Dave hadn’t grown taller either, but gosh, he was lager for sure: he now weighted 175 pounds, had 16 inches biceps, could curl a 85 pounds barbell and bench 205 pounds! He was catching me up! [/COLOR] [COLOR=White]Dave told me that during the fifth month, he ate like a pig, slept like a bear in winter, and lifted like a real beast. I decided to concentrate more on my exams, sot that month, I didn’t make real progress, except in strength: I could now curl a 125 pounds barbell, and bench 270 pounds. David, however, didn’t stop training like we did, and it paid off: he was now almost 5 feet 11 inches, weighted 188 pounds, had 17 ? inches biceps, could curl a 100 pounds barbell, could bench 235 pounds, and had a 27 inches waist! At the end of the month, he was 5 feet 11 inches, weighted 210 pounds, had almost 19 inches biceps, could curl a 135 pounds barbell, bench 285 pounds, with a 29 inches waist! Even though I was glad for him, I guess I was sad, because I never had the occasion to see him outside the gym anymore. So, I decided to wait in the locker room, since he logically had to go there after his training sessions, so we could talk and… just be friends, you know… [/COLOR][COLOR=White]

I fixed it for you...when I pulled up the edit feature, it appears you may have selected white for the text when you changed the font style.
