just wondering... ...it says the largest#of users online was 3-30-04.any idea why? |

I don't think there's any real reason. There were probably just a lot of lurkers and a few members that happened to tune in that day. Notice how the viewers on line are outnumbered by the "guests"? It seems to be upwards of 10 to 1. I would be totally shocked if even 25% of the "guests" were to actually come in and say hi or make a comment __________________ -ottomun6- It's time to stop sitting on the sidelines and get in there! |

thanks for reply! random thoughts...i used to be a real clothes-horse when i was skinny.now i don't want to make the investment until i settle on a body-size.i would suggest a new laundry for you;this has got to be getting expensive...on the larger issues of censorship that we all face.a while ago,i read an article about the problem that legislators have about the internet.is it personal communication?(like telephones?)is it broadcasting?(like television?)is it publishing?(like books?)right now, these different mediums have very different 1st amendment rights.i would also like to bring to your attention a judge's decision in an Ohio pornography trial..."if all public discourse must be conducted at a level that is acceptable for a 3rd-grader,it is not free speech."! |

I'm getting really sick of all the lurkers. I wish a few of them would atop in to say Hi, or something. The other thing that bugs me is when people leave everything blank in their profiles. __________________ God is in the rain. |

Lurkers I guess as a former lurker, I really don't mind that there are a large number of lurkers out there. I would imagine that most forums have a great number of people who pop in for a look and then move on. Most, probably don't stick around. But, as a former lurker, I think I can also safely say that if you find yourself lurking and keep coming back--just take the plunge and register! There's strength and support in community. Plus it's been a whole lot of fun! __________________ "You can never be too rich or too big!" |

Lurkers I was a lurker for about 2 weeks too. But I kept coming back, so I joined, and I've been glad ever since. I don't have a problem with lurking per se, that's how you figure wether or not it's worth your time to join & contribute. I just wish that more people would take the plunge! __________________ God is in the rain. |

I suspect that most lurkers are simply here to read the stories and aren't really interested in the forum. When I started collecting stories there were only a small readable number of them. Now there are way too many for most people to consider reading them all. I know I gave up. Perhaps they could be categorized or indexed a bit to identify the nature of the fetish presented in each one. growth-muscle growth-height older-younger man-beast transformation aliens smart to dumb well formated vs allrunoninasingleparagaphforthewholef'nstory etc. (additions to this list welcome) It would be a lot of work but if presented in a matrix and sortable might end up very useful. A lot of the old muscle growth sites have gone offline but this one has hung on. Story writing seems to come in fits and spurts as the old generation moderates or moves on to other efforts or a new generation adds their flavor to the mix. Some of the old stories seem to have disappeared entirely. I wish I'd kept better online archives, although, I have a HUGE collection on CD and probably have some that are not present even here but it's too much work to locate my old CD's in storage a thousand miles from here. |

PIcking up one thread.... Hey guys, PIcking one thread up from the many tossed out here: Glamamman2000's comment about the possible regulation of the Internet "telecommunication v. information service" True: The Federal communications Commission (FCC) regulates telephone services. Because of changes in technology, the FCC is now considering whether or not regulate that portion of the Internet when Voice over Internet Protocol telephone services (VOIP) are used. Point: VOIP is a technology where a person placing a telephone call uses the internet to transmit the call. Instead of a traditional "landline" call where the signal is routed over copper wires or through the air via satellite. (cellular calls) This technology has really taken off in the last year or two. Businesses love it because it's cheaper than traditional phone service. Problem: if phone services switch entirely to VOIP, and it is NOT regulated to some extent by the FCC, then the ability of People with disabilities to use the telephone could be seriously impacted. THat is, the features which exist now to make telephones accessible to people with disabilities, (compatibility with hearing aids, voice menus for people who are visually impaired, tty compatible phones for people who are deaf) may not be included in the new technology.. Historically (and I'm preaching to the choir here: government serves to provide access or equality of access to the market when the unregulated market will not. (E.g. Civil rights for anyone) For more info, check out the FCC at www.fcc.gov and go to the consumer information page. There's an open proceeding where the comments are allowedc until 5/28 on whether or not voip should be classified as telephony or not (YES! This has nothing to do with content-- has to do with access of telephone services.) My two lawyerly cents, Mdlftr |
