watching that show is such a great outlet for me to vent my pent-up sexual feelings to the few who know about my orientation...the hot guys don't hurt either |

Sorry Corwin, didn't mean to strike a nerve . I think we all know that the stories are unrealistic, but it still helps to see some type of gay subculture on TV (as opposed to the endless straight stories). I still look forward to QAF as a momentary break from the real world that is still homophobic. (Yes, I know the scenes of two gay men holding hands as they walk down the hallway of a highschool and not attracting attention is real Fantasy island material ) But hey, eventually someone will put out a down to earth TV series about gay life... eventually. __________________ -ottomun6- It's time to stop sitting on the sidelines and get in there! |

ps. Bobby Gant is about my height and didn't look much more buff than me (has better arms though) __________________ http://www.scott-safier.us "Stand firm for what you believe in until or unless logic or experience prove you wrong. Basically I live near Toronto where they film QAF. I'm not surprised at the inaccuracies of the writers. All they have to do is ASK. But heaven forbid they ask anyone around their little circle. I'd love for the "adopted" hiv+ teen hooker to be written out of the series. I'm tired of him. I WANT MORE SEX! MORE MUSCLE! I love Sharon Gless though. I've seen her in person several times at the theatre I work at. And various other QAF cast members as well. They are quite cute in person. G. |

First it was Jennifer Beale in "Flashdance", working in the steel mill during the day, dancing in a bar that looked like the set of a Busby Berkeley musical at night (on the unfashionable South side of the river) and preparing her audition for the Pgh. Ballet Academy (filmed in Carnegie Museum, which is more famous for 19th c. impressionist paintings and dinosaurs, thank you!). Now, this show, which, I admit, I've never seen. The whole concept is so wildly at odds compared to anything I ever knew or heard about the city that it strikes me as typical Hollywood counterintuitive programming, along the lines of "Amish in the City" or some such. Still, people watch it, which is all that the producers want. My two grumpy hometown cents, Mdlftr |
