“Ethan?” I gawked at him. “Is that…is it really you?”

“You bet.” Ethan grinned broadly.

“But you’re so-”

“Huge?” He cut me off, flexing an arm. My eyes bulged out when I saw a bicep the size of a softball mound up and stretched the sleeve tighter.

“Different.” I finished.

The laugh he gave almost knocked me out of my seat. “Well duh! It’s been, what, seven years already! I wasn’t going to stay the same snot faced kid I was in the 4th grade.”

What Ethan said made sense. It was foolish to think that someone from seven years ago could still look the same. I was painfully reminded of that fact every time I looked in a mirror. However, to go from the smallest kid in my class to this, this giant…It may be normal for someone to grow up in seven years, but I just couldn’t handle the idea of someone growing this much.

“But man, you really packed on the pounds didn’t you, Mr. Brian?” Ethan reached down and poked my pot belly. “For a moment there I almost didn’t recognize you ‘cuz you looked so fuckin’ different. I remember you used to be a big, buff guy, but now you’re fat!”

I shifted my bulk uncomfortably, suddenly feeling inferior. “I haven’t been able to hit the gym the way I used to.”

“I can see that.” He laughed as he patted my gut and watched it jiggle. His actions made me uncomfortable, but I couldn’t voice it. “When I saw your face, I almost couldn’t believe it. I mean, you changed so much! When I heard you introduce yourself as Mr. Whitmore, I thought ‘this can’t be the same guy,’ but after listening to you teach the class I saw that you really were Mr. Brian! Imagine my surprise when I figured out that my overweight substitute used to be my 4th grade teacher?”

“I’m…surprised as well for different reasons.” I say, trying to take it all in.

Reaching out, Ethan took hold of my tie and lifted it up. “Damn, you still wearing ties Mr. Brian? I thought I already told you looked stupid in them.”

What was up with people and ties!? Did it really matter if I had one on or not? “I remember you just said I looked better without one.”

“Look better, look stupid; it says about the same thing.” Ethan laughed. “Of course, now that you’re chubby, you look even worse.”

Was this really the same Ethan? He would have never said something so insulting when he was a kid. “Ethan, exactly what happened to you?”

Ethan broke out into a broad grin, as if he had been waiting for me to ask that. “I ate my wheaties and pumped iron, that’s how this happened.” He leaned forward and bounced his pecs. I watched, mesmerized by the bobbing slabs of meat. It took all I had to stop myself from grabbing my dick and jack off right then and there.

All of a sudden the wall of muscle receded, and my trance was broken. “Anyways, all I wanted to do was say what's up.” Ethan told me. “That and I want my hat back.”

I blinked. “Oh. Okay.” I scrambled around, looking for the knit cap until I found it. “Here you go, but you shouldn't be wearing it at school when we have a 'no hat policy.'”

“Ha!” Ethan snorted as he yanked his hat back onto his head. “Rules don't apply to me anymore, Mr. Brian. I can do whatever I want and no one gives a shit about it.”

Was this really the same Ethan that used to ask permission for just about everything? It seemed that not only did Ethan drastically change physically, but mentally as well. It was just so mind-blowing that I just couldn’t take it all in at once.

Luckily for me the bell rang, giving me something to focus my attention on. “Ethan, you’d better get going or you’ll be late for class.”

“Screw class, none of the teachers are going to mark me absent.”

"Ethan, you should get going." I said, somehow finding my voice and authority. "I need to teach my next class, and having you here will distract me."

Ethan looked as if he was going to argue, but I held firm and strong. The students from second period were already entering the room and taking their seats. My determination and pride as an educator was the only thing that was keeping me from giving in.

Finally, Ethan broke his gaze. "Fine, I'll leave. But in return, you gotta go watch my game tonight, alright? If you don't, I'm ditching your class tomorrow morning completely."

"Fine, it’s a deal. Now go!" I said just a bit more forceful then I intended.

To my surprise Ethan actually looked hurt before his face settled back into that cocky attitude. "See you later tonight, Mr. Brian."

I watched as Ethan left, my eyes trailing down that broad back and resting on those tight buttocks before they vanished out the door. Once he was gone, I blinked and violently shook my head. What was I thinking? He was a student! He was roughly half my age, for Christ's sake. Still, I couldn't believe I stood up to him like that! I was still amazed at how I had managed to stare down someone five inches taller and 30 lbs. heavier then I was. However, I couldn't shake off the uncomfortable feeling Ethan had left me.

Just what exactly happened to him?

* * *

“Damn Brian, to think that you’d face down the Black Bear on the first day; you may be fat, but you sure got guts!”

I blinked at the man who had suddenly jumped me upon entry into the faculty lounge. “Excuse me?”

“I’m talking about Ethan Black!” The man clapped me on the back. “The entire school is buzzing about how you got him to sit quietly in your class and pay attention. Not everyone has the guts to stand up to him, but by God you do!” The speaker was a rather short man in his early forties. Despite that, he was rather good looking with dirty blonde hair, hazel eyes and a neatly trimmed beard and moustache.

“Er, it was nothing, really.” I said, remembering how Ethan had acted with me after class. I couldn’t really call that standing up to him, the way Ethan treated me. “I’m sorry, but who are you?”

“Whoops, sorry about that. Sometimes I get ahead of myself and forget to do some important stuff. The name’s Rick Kennedy, I’m North Forrest’s principal.” He stuck out his hand.

Memories of Mr. Montell resurfaced within me. I involuntarily stepped back, but then forced myself forward and shake Mr. Kennedy’s hand. “Brian Whitmore. And why does making a student follow rules such a big deal? That’s our job isn’t it?”

Mr. Kennedy gave a shrug of his shoulders. “With regular kids, yea; with the Black Bear, you’d be lucky to come out of it still standing, and that’s only if he’s in a good mood!”

My eyes narrowed. “If he's such a troublemaker, why hasn’t anything been done about it? If he's intimidating the teachers, the usual punishment is suspension or the like."

“You can try to suspend him," Mr. Kennedy suggested, "but everyone around here is a big sports fanatic."

"What's that got to do with anything?" I demanded.

Mr. Kennedy actually looked shocked. "Why, it has to do with everything, Brian! Now, even though our athletes work to the bone and we support them a hundred percent, we never really had the talent to make it all the way to state before. That is, until Ethan enrolled freshman year. Ethan Black is one of the best players I’ve ever seen in my history of high school sports. He's fast, strong, got good reflexes and he's into more sports than just one! In the last three years he has won so many trophies that we had to build another trophy case to fit them all! Suspend him and we’ll have a lynch mob at our door. Hell, some of the faculty might even supply them with the torches and pitchforks and join in themselves!"

God, of all the schools I ended up with it was one where everyone puts the jocks ahead of morals. I resisted the urge to grab him by the shirt and ask what the hell was wrong with this school when I remembered that he was the principal. If I didn't tread carefully around him, I'd probably be fired in no time at all. All I had to do was keep my head straight and last for two weeks.

Still, I just couldn't sit back and watch someone I used to look after turn into a delinquent. "I'm a little worried about Ethan's academic standing." I told Mr. Kennedy. "I've heard he's been ditching classes and not doing his work."

"If you're worried about him being dumber than a stick, you don't have to worry." Mr. Kennedy reassured me. "Despite how he acts, Ethan actually has a pretty good head on his shoulder. He has the brains; it's just that he lacks the motivation and effort."

"But-"I started.

"Our new teacher seems to have forgotten that he is merely a temporary substitute." Some spoke behind me.

I immediately recognized that snobbish tone of voice as the person who had called and hired me. Turning around, I got my first good look of him.

As snobbish as he sounded over the phone, he was even worse in real life. He was tall, almost as tall as me, though he was as thin as a rail. He had very dark eyes and greasy black hair pulled back in a ponytail. His moustache and beard was neatly trimmed in a Colonel Sanders style and paired off with his silver wire glasses it gave him a distinguished look. The man was dressed in a black suit and even had a tie on. What caught my attention the most was his rather long and pointed nose that reminded me distinctly of a rat.

"Ah, there you are Nicholas!" Mr. Kennedy greeted the newcomer. "Come in, come in! Brian, this is Nicolas Cartier, the vice principal."

Vice principal? I had initially pegged Mr. Cartier as a secretary, but it looked like I guessed wrong. Thinking it better to try to get on his good side, I put up a friendly front. "Nice to meet you Nick," I said extending my hand out.

Nicholas looked down at my hand with what obvious distaste. "It’s a pleasure to meet you as well, Mr. Whitmore." He simply replied and left me hanging. “And I request that you call me by my surname when addressing me. I only allow certain people I acknowledge to call me by the first name and not by some commoner’s attempt to degrade it.”

Normally I was an even tempered guy, but this asshole was pushing me. He could at least pretend to be civil instead of a stuck up jerk.

Mr. Kennedy sensed my annoyance and quickly moved in to patch things up. “Now, now, don’t let him get to you. That’s just the way he is. Hell, if it weren’t for Nicolas here, this school would’ve fallen to pieces long ago.”

“Indeed.” Mr. Cartier nodded, not even trying to be modest. “Before I arrived, this school was on the verge of closing down. However, I saw the challenge of bringing out the hidden gemstone from this ruin, so I applied for the position of vice principal.”

Translation: he was here for himself and not for the kids themselves. Mr. Cartier was exactly the type of person I hated the most. Still, as vice principal he had a lot of power over me, so I would just have to swallow what little pride I had left and bear with it.

“Anyways, about Ethan Black…” I started up again.

“Ethan is a valuable asset to our athletic programs.” Mr. Cartier informed me. “He has increased the morale of our teams and the student body. If I may be bold to say it, he is the symbol of the school spirit. Remove him, and you might as well be crushing the spirit of the school.”

“Oh, I agree perfectly with you on that, Nicholas!” Mr. Kennedy laughed as he patted Mr. Cartier on the shoulder.

And just like that, he took away any arguments I had to discipline Ethan. I soon realized that although he was only the Vice Principal, Nicholas Cartier had Mr. Kennedy eating out of the palm of his hand. The more I found out about that man, the less I liked about him. Crap, Mr. Cartier was willing to let Ethan become a terror all for some stupid trophies and a little glory?

There was no way I was about to let that happen to one of my students, even if I was only their temporary teacher. If neither the principal nor the vice principal was going to do anything about it, I was going to have to take matters into my own hands.

First on the agenda: getting Ethan to come to school on time. I briefly remembered the deal I made to him this morning and decided I should start there.

“So, Mr. Kennedy, I heard that there was a game tonight…”

* * *

The school gym was packed. Hundreds of spectators were jumping up and down on the bleachers, every single inch of it taken up. There were people who waved banners and signs with drawings of bears around to show their school spirit, as if screaming at the top of their lung weren’t enough. Although there were people from the opposing school cheering from their side of the gym, they paled in comparison to the roar from the home team side. Mr. Kennedy had warned me about everyone’s enthusiasm for high school sports, but I didn’t really believe it until my eardrums threatened to burst from all the noise.

“Explain to me why I passed up drinks with a cute guy to come here?” Kevin said loudly, trying to be heard over everything.

“Because I need someone to drive me home after it’s done, and you’re the only guy I know with a car.” I kept my eyes focused on the gym floor. Covering the wood flooring were bright red and blue mats, the standard items in a wrestling match. Already there were kids lined up on both ends, but where was Ethan? It was hardly possible to miss someone that big.

Kevin and I watched as wrestler after wrestler squared off. I had to admit it was very exciting to watch them go at it, and soon even I was standing and cheering them on (though in a more reserved manner.) Both teams were evenly matched, until finally we reached the final battle. Currently we were ahead by just one. If North Forrest did not win this last match, then it would become a tie.

“Alright everyone, it’s the match you all been waiting for!” The MC announced. The volume of the crowd abruptly kicked up a notch, and for a moment I thought I was going to go deaf.

“That’s right!” The MC’s voice spoke over the crowd. “It’s time for the main event! Standing at 6’5” and weighing over two hundred and sixty eight pounds of pure beef, The Black Bear of North Forrest High, heeeeere’s Ethaaaaaaaaan!”

The gym doors suddenly threw open and Ethan stepped in. As impressive as he was when I saw him that morning, he looked even more awe inspiring in his black and red wrestling signet. My jaw virtually dropped at the sight. He looked like a Mr. Olympia contender, but with hair on his body. I mean, he wasn’t like shaggy or something like that, but he had a nice amount of growth on his arms and legs to make him even more masculine. I had known he was huge from his shape before, but I didn’t know just how defined and ripped he really was. His shoulders were broad, capped with two defined deltoids and his traps lifted the straps of his signet upwards. His arms were fully exposed, and I could only gasp at the sight of those huge biceps, triceps and the powerfully knotted forearms.

His torso, although covered, might as well have been exposed. Ethan’s chest was big and bulging like two ripe melons ready to explode. Beneath them was a pair of 8-pack abs that looked like bricks in a wall, stacked on top of each other. His lats made him seem impossibly wide and thick, and when combined with his narrow waist it gave him a visible V-shape. His legs simply looked massive, the quads ripped and defined to clearly see the multiple heads to it, and his calves bunched and flexed to the size of softballs with every step he took. And then, there was Ethan’s crotch. I tried to avoid it, but eventually my eyes found their way to it. It looked like someone stuffed a few dozen socks or so in there! The bulge under the signet was so big that it almost reached the size of public indecency.

The moment Ethan stepped into the gym, the crowd suddenly exploded. Their spirit before couldn’t compare to the thunderous cries for their star. It caught me so off guard that I was almost blown away. They stomped, screamed, cheered and waved their arms like mad. Hell, I could even see some people on the visitor’s side cheering for Ethan.

Ethan was just drinking up the attention as he slowly walked alongside the bleachers. As he waved towards his fans, he suddenly looked at my direction and our eyes met. Grinning cockily, he hit a double bicep pose, making his peaks soar. The crowd ate it up and went wild while I averted my gaze, my face flaming and embarrassed. I caught a glimpse of Kevin giving me a funny look, but I quickly turned my attention back to the mat.

On the other side of the gym, I spotted what appears to be Ethan’s opponent. From the brief notation from the MC, I barely caught the name Charles. Although I knew they had to be in the same weight class to wrestle each other, he looked significantly weaker. Sure he had some big muscles on him, but most of his weight was comprised of fat which jiggled on his body with every movement. Comparing him to Ethan’s Greek god-like physique was just ridiculous. Judging from the look on his face, he knew this too. However, the other school’s coach was fast talking him, convincing him he had a chance and telling him what to do. Meanwhile our own coach simply sat back and relaxed, as if he had every confidence that Ethan would win without his help.

And then it was time. Both players stepped up to the mat and stared down each other as they got into position. Charles looked pretty big and imposing himself by normal high school standards, but he was completely shadowed out by Ethan. I think I saw his face pale at this point, but before I could get a good look the whistle was blown and Charles tackled Ethan head on. To my and everybody else’s surprise, Ethan went down and crashed into the floor. Ethan’s opponent wasted no time in using this to his advantage and put him in a tight hold.

It appeared as if Ethan would lose this match in no time, but something didn’t sit right with me. For starters, Ethan went down far too easily, and didn’t put up much of a fight as his opponent got into position. Looking down at the scene, I tried to look for what was out of place with this picture. Everything seemed pretty normal at first, but then I thought to look at their faces. The fat one’s face was one of extreme determination and effort, while Ethan…

Ethan was smiling.

Suddenly Ethan’s muscles surged and broke out of the other guy’s supposedly solid hold like it was nothing. After a stunned moment, Charles tried to pin Ethan back down, but after three seconds Ethan would casually break out of it again. Finally, Ethan started to make a move and sit up. Not wanting Ethan to get back on his feet, Charles tried to tackle him back down. When he collided with Ethan’s chest, however, he simply bounced off. Grinning broadly, Ethan stood up to full height and placed his hands on his hips.

Desperately, Charles wrapped his arms around Ethan and tried to making the giant submit to him, but it was like trying to move a mountain. Even over the crowd, I could faintly hear Ethan’s laugh. With ease, Ethan grabbed Charles by the waist and then slammed him down, causing me to wince involuntarily. The wind seemed to have been knocked out of Charles from the impact, and I guessed he was probably seeing stars as well. Still grinning, Ethan laid down on top of his opponent like he was lying down on a pillow and placed his elbows on the mat while propping up his head, looking very much like a kid staring at the TV from the living room floor.

The referee counted, and Charles made no motion to fight back. The bell rang, and the match was over with Ethan as the winner. Standing up, Ethan pumped his arms up into the air to get the crowd going. Soon, everyone was cheering loudly, blowing those annoyingly loud horns before they all began chanting his name over and over. The air suddenly became filled with, of all things, teddies bears. People were pelting them towards the ground. Ethan gathered up a few, but there were so many that his teammates had to help as well. Pausing for a second, Ethan looked in my direction once again and made eye contact. Giving me a wink, he hit another bicep pose that sent his fans over the edge.

He had been playing with the kid, I realized. Ethan had allowed Charles to look as if he had the upper hand, a taste of victory before he stole it away and shattered any hope. The look of cockiness on his face as he allowed Charles to try to move him, the look of easiness he had as he lifted someone his own weight and slammed him down on the mat, the dominance as he pinned Charles down using just his bodyweight…he played the poor guy like a cat with a cornered mouse, enjoying every moment, every feeble struggle before he completely crushed him.

And what scared me the most was that I was completely turned on by all this.

They say in seven years most of the temporary cells of our organism are completely replaced - would the same be applied to our temper? I guess not, although something happened to change a sweet kid into an arrogant yet, charming muscle jock, a very delightful vigorous young man with an unexplained need to look like he doesn't need anyone. I wonder how much Brian's unexpected dismissal had affected young Ethan, plus, what's the thing about Cartier and his own arrogance?

The drama thickens and it's only chapter 3.

Another story by Redkage, new deep emotional dilemmas and muscle packed action.

Congratulations, I loved the wrestling scene and the way Ethan manipulated the entire audience and his adversary as well. Is Ethan's biggest enemy his own inflated ego?

I'm really looking forward to the next part. For some reason, I quite like Ethan even though in real life I'd find him too cocky. Actually, I'd probably still like him

Even atoms in our body change constantly... it's said that all the atoms of our body change from one year to another.

Back to the story... the story is awesome, I just can't wait to read more of it.

I love Ethan XD!!

Ahh I see a potential plot and twist!! Perhaps Ethan is not all that he seems and may actually- Well, I think Redkage will tell us in due time. No need to spoil anything and say it out loud (especially if I end up being wrong ).

Another great chapter! PINS AND NEEDLES ><

Well, Ethan's one of the hotter characters I've been reading around here, so hot that I was inspired to draw a pic of him.

Thanks Redkage.

I don't like...

... that effete, arrogant vice principle. And I can't help but suspect that he might have something to do with Ethan's cocky attitude. But RedKage has given us a glimpse of the "old" vulnerable Ethan when Brian sent him along to his next class. And even with the insults, Ethan showed that he respects "Mister Brian." I hope Brian and Ethan, after the twists and turns in the plot of this story, help each other to find their respective vindications. Hey, it could happen, if they wind up opening up to each other and really listening to each other. Listening is something Brian has proven he can do. Opening up is another matter, both for Brian and for Ethan. But, hey, this is RedKage so there's no way of guessing where he's going to take us on this rocket ride.

This story is great. Keep it coming. It would be cool to see Mr. Brian bulk and buff himself back up to keep the comraderie going. It might make disciplining Ethan easier if he had someone who was as big to stand up to him. Just a thought.

I think Snape is one of the few characters to be described with "greasy stringy hair"... now when I hear that, Snape is the first thing I think of.

Well lets be fair now. Snape turned out to be good. Maybe Cartier will too. Or maybe not. Thats all in Red's eyes not mine. Still theres lots of ways that he could go with that.

Enough of my babbling...

Another hot installment. And a great drawing by O. Keep up the good work.

This story has so much potential. I am too excited for the rest. Is the teacher going to get back into shape?
