Jake Gets Jacked Jake Gyllenhaal buffs up for Prince of Persia. |
| |||
He looks a little like hugh Jackman body wise in that picture |
| |||
He looks great to me (although the hair is bit of a mess!) I was amused by all the "ewww, he's too big!" comments on the website! xoxo richard |
| |||
sorry guys, i'm trying to delete this message (made a mistake, but i dont know how) ??? |
| |||
nice! i hope he gets bigger! hahah, though i know its not gonna happen. |
| |||
oh i know. Who are those people? i guess they like men really scrawny and helpless. lol. |
| |||
WOW! I wasn't expecting that. I'd prefer him without the body hair... but that's just me. __________________ [Insert witty quote here...] |

He looks like a hairy mess* with over-developed pecs, compared to the rest of his body... If the rest would catch up, and if he'd get a haircut, great * I mean, as in: somewhere in between clean and sparse body hair and thick and full. It looks lost, confused and messy. |

Heh. ^_^; Not exactly. The Prince of Persia was never a football player. He has a different look about him than the one they're presenting. I took a look at him, and honestly, he's not that impressive looking, and he's definately not the right look for the part. Disapointment just washed over me. |

He's lithe and defined in the game. Actually... he's kinda small: Personally, I would have preferred Gyllanhaul's OLD body type... __________________ [Insert witty quote here...] |

I'll Take Him I don't know the game so I have no preconceived ideas of what the character should look like - however, I'll take the new Jake over the old thin, waifish looking guy any day. And somehow, I don't think Reese is complaining either! __________________ "You can never be too rich or too big!" |

he is actually more representing the version from "The Warrior Within," the second game of the series... thank god Disney is making this an actual trilogy still, so at least his look will be consistent hopefully... __________________ If it rusts, it can never be trusted If its owner fails to control it, it will cut him Yes, pride is Like a blade -Kubo Tite |

I agree that he looks like a hairy mess in these photos. Better posture would probably do wonders- show off his pecs and help define his waist a bit. His pecs are definitely overdeveloped in proportion to everything else- especially his shoulders- standing up straight would hopefully make them less... saggy. __________________ If I wanted to play mind games I'd buy a Rubik's cube. ~ Acheron Women love muscle too! |

I do agree that he doesn't look the part, but I was almost blown away to see him buff like that. I am a fan of his pevious work and I will enjoy watching him in this movie. |

I should tell you that they are girls (unsurprisingly) and one fact is most girls you encounter on the internet are under the age of 30 and are into the metrosexual male look or probably extremely annoying bishi loving fangirls. Bishi as in bishonen or fictional men who look like impossibly scrawny boobless women with lots of make-up. __________________ WRRYYYYYY! |

I hate to generalize, but personally, I think the Japanese culture is probably one of the strangest on the planet. I'm getting OT here. Jake is mega woof! With that new body, he could do a Brokeback Mountain 2 where he strips down to his tight jeans while working up a sweat on the ranch A less-saggy Jake --- __________________ Train hard, stay hard Last edited by bayjock; August 16th, 2008 at 10:46 AM. |

I don't think Gyllenhal looks that jacked, he just looks fit and lean. Not since Arnold has there been an actor who is truly a jacked beast, even the Rock has deflated. |

^^^agreed. But i guess "jacked" is in the eye of the beholder. For a tween girl, jake is probably already "too big", but on this site, we all know thats a ridiculous thing to say |
| |||
Yah but ones that look even more female. If you ever watch anime you'ld know how they'd look like. Quote:

Wow he's hardly recognizable in those buzznet article pictures. Normally I just roll my eyes at any Hollywood castings of strong or rugged characters (i.e. Brad Pitt as Achilles or Paul Tefler as Hercules - WTFLOL), but Jake is seriously looking the part. Very very impressive, both how he's developed himself and that the casting crew isn't going for a pansy pretty-boy. |
| |||
he has what looks like holes in his stomach!! what is that?? |

Funny.... Jake looks like he put on a few pounds and spent a little time in the gym, but to me he doesn't look like he is overly-jacked, and definitely not huge like some of those people think that made comments on that website! This kills me... you get those people that see someone like that and think "he's too big!" or "he looks like a freak". I can only wonder what they think when I walk around in public. I do not know about the "Prince of Persia", I only know about Jake, and what I feel are the definitions of "jacked", and "huge"! D P.S. and yes, I like 'em much BIGGER! |
| |||
I definitely think Jake's going in the right direction, although the ripple effect abs, ewwww comment cracked me up. I had not known that there were people out there who were disgusted by six packs. lol. And totally off topic: I love this forum, *love* muscle, and really can't get enough of either. But I like me some bishies, too. Anime/manga bishie? Even better if it's the right anime/manga. And here are three images I like. Kisuke Urahara, from Bleach Art by Eldanis King, from Gakuen Heaven Screencap Kanou (mob boss, er, loan officer), the Twins (work for mob boss, er, loan officer), random bad guy who's about to get his ass handed to him for holding Kanou's lover (Ayase) hostage. This is Okane ga Nai. Page scan. So those are some of the bishies that hang out in my world. PS-- I'm half Asian and spent a good deal of my childhood in Japan. Japanese culture doesn't seem weird to me. *American* culture, however, felt truly bizarre when I first moved here. __________________ www.rowanmcbride.com ***** "And so, may Evil beware and may Good dress warmly and eat lots of fresh vegetables." -The Tick Last edited by Rowan; August 25th, 2008 at 01:03 AM. |

mm... great choices Rowan! I was thinking of similar examples as I was reading this thread. I like to define "bishie" the way you once sort of defined it when I asked your opinion on the subject. It's not just about the body "type". A man can have a lot of muscle and still be bishie. What makes him bishie is that he is so beautiful he transcends gender, making it okay for both men and women to be attracted to him. Some of the asian men out there, who are labeled "bishie" are extraordinarily beautiful... but when they take off their shirts, you can definitely tell they're men. __________________ "Oh yeah, I lost my locator, and yes, I realize the irony of that." - Dr. Venture |
