Aerobic Then Anerobic?

Howdy, kinda new to planning out a workout here.

Well anyway, I am planning for a workout based on Aerobic and then Anerobic. Any recommendations on how to balance out the two?
At current pace it's me switching between the two monthly or weekly routines.

Workout THEN Aerobics

Nearly everyone will tell you the opposite, but I think you should do your weight lifting first and THEN your aerobics.

Here's how the theory goes for this:

1) The purpose of weight training is to build muscle.
2) To build muscle, you need to take yourself to failure
3) To take yourself to failure, you should have all available power in your body at your disposal.
4) You can't have all the possible energy available if you've already used some of it during your aerobics.

ERGO: Workout FIRST

If you "need" a warmup, so your body isn't cold, get on the treadmill for 5 minutes. But there is no need for a 20-30+ minutes aerobic session beforehand.

Conversely....

1) Aerobics is to lose fat, through the burning of calories in exercise
2) You burn more calories the longer you exercise -- no matter what that form of exercise is.

ERGO: Putting your aerobics last has you burn just as many calories as you would by doing your aerobics first. In aerobics, it doesn't matter how tired you already are.

But it does for bodybuilding. Your muscles just won't get their best workout if you do aerobics first.

So workout first!

Work with the weights first, exhaust yourself then cool down with some aerobic work. Or you can do more aerobic work on days that you do not train with weights.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I myself use a couple of light pumping sets for my warmup when going into my lifting sets.....it is just as effective for me as treadmill as you are warming up the muscles and joints used directly..... and I'm always training for mass gains.

Just my .02
