A Post Thanksgiving and Pre Christmas Suggestion

If I have my understanding of US timezones and US traditions right, then at this moment people on the East Coast will be snoozing off their turkey dinner, people on the West Coast will be just starting to tuck in and Hawaiians will be deciding between whether to have their turkey indoors on or the beach.

If that's the case and you're at a loss for something to do, then might I suggest that you put your spare time and recent protein ingestion to some scientific use in answering the question: "Who's stronger? Off season bodybuilders or contest strongmen?"

This is a question that I have been asked on numerous occasions on All Experts and decided that instead of saying "I don't have that data to hand" I should try and find out the answer, so here goes then
  1. First of all determine your bodytype from the following: Contest Bodybuilder, Off Season Bodybuilder, Contest Strength Athlete, Off Season Strength Athlete, GymNut, Not Muscled
  2. Next, fill two buckets of water up to the handles and then weigh them
  3. Weigh yourself and make a note of the proportion that the buckets weigh (for instance, if the buckets weigh 20lbs and you weigh 200lbs, then the proportion is 1/10th)
  4. Get a spotter and a timer
  5. Stand straight with both arms level with your shoulders (as if performing an Iron cross on the rings)
  6. Tell your spotters to place the buckets into your hands and to start timing
  7. Hold the buckets for as long as you can
  8. Note the time and then PM me or reply to this posting with the following information: Name / ID, Age, Weight, Classification (as listed abve), Proportion of bucket to weight, duration

Hopefully I will get a lot of responses between now and Christmas and before Christmas be able to post a definitive answer to that question.

strongman athletes will always be stronger off season or during contest time, simply because that's what they train for and focus upon: strength.
A true bber doesn't really care how strong he is, he's only concerned with the shape and appearance of the muscles.

Absolutely. I know that and you know that but the average person in the street will put bodybuilders and strength athletes in the same book.
