"Before" I hope there will be "After" fotos soon...Brent's Pics Last edited by brent; March 16th, 2003 at 05:44 PM. |

One month into my workout actually, it took me a couple weeks to start workingout after I posted my first pics on Mar 16, but I posted new ones today. I hope this will help keep me motivated to going to the gym... I've only really been working out for about three weeks this time. Brent's pics. |
| |||
Each month is too often to see much improvement, I'm switching to every two months... |
| |||
Brent GREAT progress there stud keep it up look great keep us all posted there stud |
| |||
I like you. Thank you jtchef. I don't think anyone has called me a, "Stud" before. Well my partner, but he's biased... Anyways, I'll be taking & posting more pics in a couple weeks, I just want to see some change each time. I just hit my goal of 215! Well, actually it was 214.7, but as I say, "It's close enough for government work." I'm pushing more weight than I ever have before, and I don't intend to loose motivation. I will be F**KING HUGE! Brent. |

Restarting a LONG dead thread... Since everyone talks about the before pics, ect. I thought I should give you a shot of what I looked like after only a few months of working out. These were taken in Spring of 1993, in the SF Bay area, while I was in the Navy. An interesting pint here is that I was super-proud of my muscle then... __________________ God is in the rain. |

Nice to see some earlier pics, Brent. You had a cute butt, even then. And I know it's a lot bigger/stronger now! <g> You should re-post some of your more recent pics here -- maybe put together a timeline of your pics over the years so that we can watch you grow. And maybe some enterprising morph artist out there might even make a little animation of your growth! Once again, good work. You look great. And thanks for posting. -- J. __________________ 6'3", 225#, growth-oriented lifter. James, (Massingup) Thanks for the idea of the timeline. I'm looking for an intermediate pic, like around 1998/99ish, then I will do the time-line. If there is an interested morph artist wants to do an animation, I'd be willing to send higher quality scans. __________________ God is in the rain. |

In case Yahoo ever loses those old pics from a year ago, here are a couple from March 16, 2003. __________________ God is in the rain. |

And here are a couple from April 2003. __________________ God is in the rain. |

E-yow-sa!! Damn nice butt there Brent. No wonder the guys were checking you out during your time in the navy. I could only imagine what those glutes looked like with a tight white navy uniform walking across the deck (pant-pant-pant!) I'd love to see you wearing that old shirt now that you are becoming a big fella __________________ -ottomun6- It's time to stop sitting on the sidelines and get in there! |

LOVE the baby-pictures! no wonder the BF snatched you up!what a cutie!&the investment GREW!with interest!! |

Thank you all for the nice comments. Of course my butt was good then, I was stationed in SF. You can't live in SF and not have a great ass, I mean EVERYTHING is on a hill there! On a side note, I really like my hair in the 1993 pics when I was using Aveda's Brilliant? Humectant Pommade, and it's great stuff. Maybe I should get back to it? Oh, and can anyone guess what I was doing with my hand? Hint: this was taken about 2 minutes after ending my enlistment... __________________ God is in the rain. |

Back in the day Brent You weren’t that skinny to start-off with, I’d say more like normal. Now though, yeah you’re developing into one SERIOUS BEEFSTER and a gorgeous one at that. Go Brent, go Brent. … Thanks mate. |
| |||
damn Brent!! You're "before" pics look like... ummm... me... :P LOL... hey well, at least I know how awesome I CAN be in only a few years. |
| |||
JCO, I thank you for your compliments. My point wasn't to show how skinny I was, but how much I've grown over the years. When I was first starting to lift weights, the only information I had came from magazines. Those magazines almost made it look like these big bodybuilder dudes were naturally huge. I may not be as big as a bodybuilder in a magazine, yet, but I think I have come a long way. I also think that if I were just starting to lift weights, that seeing my progress (since it's real) would be encouraging. I just wish I didn't waste my 20's goofing off from the gym. Just stay in the gym, week after week, month after month, and you will get there. __________________ God is in the rain. |

I found a mid-term pic from the Summer of 1998 or 1999. I think it was 1999. So here it is, and I will make that timeline for James & Co. very soon. __________________ God is in the rain. |

The flower behind the ear just MAKES the photo... |
| |||
Thank you. I like the flower too, but when I took the shot, I was wanting to show-off my Bowflex body, nit the flower. Now, I think I look skinny in the pic, but at the time I was very proud of how I looked. Also, you are lucky it's just a flower. when this shot was taken, I was working at a hippiafied natural foods co-op where we generally wore skirts on days we didn't stalk shelves... __________________ God is in the rain. |

mmmm-hmmm,,, so,there's muscle-hungry Brent amongst the protein powder"stalk"ing the shelves!... |

Here's a timeline for James. Tell me what you think: __________________ God is in the rain. |

awright,babe! well on your way to"scarifyin'!"keep it up! |
| |||
Thanks. It is a good start IMHO. I intend to keep it up. Now that I'm seeing progress, I can't imagine why I haven't gone regularly for the last 12 years? __________________ God is in the rain. |

Got to respect Brent ... Brent The man who provides not only boundless enthusiasm but also inspiration. 1) A big thank you for the timeline. 2) From what I can see from this timeline, you’ve had 2 growth spurts: a) From April 1994 to August 1999, which seems more gradual considering the period of time. b) The second serious one was from Spring 2003 – August 2004. 3) Congratulations, you’ve discovered the key to sustained gains for yourself, and are now locked into it. 4) Question is: What did you start doing differently in Spring 2003, when compared to the period before? Once again good stuff Brent, you deserve it long may it continue. Many thanks |

I kept going to the gym. Before that I'd go for a few weeks, and quit. Each time I'd go through a phase like that, I'd get slightly bigger. Now that I've been going consistently since March, I think I will keep going, and keep growing. My advice is to just get you rear into the gym regularly. The rest will follow. I'm glad you enjoyed the timeline. It was a lot of work to get all that gathered up, and put together. Thank you, Brent. __________________ God is in the rain. |

Timeline - and some thoughts on lifting weights Brent, Great timeline! Very inspiring-- I appreciate the effort you put into it. One suggestion: why not take a recent photo with the same exact pose as the one from 1994? That way the comparison will be even more apparent. The pix are great as they are--just suggesting one way that might give you (and us!) a similar baseline for comparison! BTW, your "consistency=progress" is very true. I've found it to be the same as well. It seems like I've had a sort of "growth surgette" this July-August, compared to the rest of the year. I don' t weigh much more, but my strength has gone up, and I am handling poundages easier now than I did even a month or two ago! I've gone up on my db incline press weights from 50#s in each hand (with no shoulder pain)_ to 60#s with no pain! I'm only doing 4-6 reps per set with the 60#s, but nothing hurts afterward, and I'm going forward, instead of back! Very inspiring! My progress has been slow--I started a year and half ago doing 35#s in each hand, slooowly, with some shoulder pain afterwards, and no increases in weight! Very difficult to make progress on benching! Now, I feel great, and my chest is resonding! WHAT a rush! Bodybuilding IS great! It's just that the magazines (the major source of info for most of us) are full of b.s. and make you feel like you're a total wuss if you're not starting out benching 3 plates a side! [Aside: did ya ever notice that the pros in those staged pics are either "resting" incredibly heavy weights, or they are moving more believable weights in their "routines"? A "big guy" at my gym that I got to know, about 6'1" around 230#, told me that the most he ever benched for reps in a workout routine was around 265#---and he has nice pecs: full, sizeable and rounded.] It's not just the amount of weight that you lift that gives you size: it's how often, the range of motion, and your body's genetic tendencies. Having said that--it's great to see my genetics "plumping" out! Thanks again, Brent, for all your supportive comments and inspirational pix! Mdlftr |

First I joined this forum. I think that by responding to people, and reading about other's success, and trying to encourage others to succeed, I'm constantly reminded to go to the gym. It's a huge help to me, and I highly encourage others to beat my post count! Second, a former roommate of mine always said that with the gym, and everything else I pursued in my life, that I had, "radical beginnings, few middles, and no ends." I thought that was highly appropriate for me, but I couldn't help myself from exhausting myself at first. Then I'd always quit. At that time, I turned 30, and realized that I HAD to start slowly. So I did, and it seems to have worked! __________________ God is in the rain. |

See Brent grow. Grow Brent grow Brent, it sounds like everyone has expressed the things I was going to say, so I'll just add a simple comment like "WOW!!" __________________ -ottomun6- It's time to stop sitting on the sidelines and get in there! |

Otto, Please feel free to repeat whatever you want. It's my thread, and I think that if you really believe in something someone else has said, you deserve to repeat points for emphasis. Also, I'm a little narcissistic, and I like compliments. __________________ God is in the rain. |
