sonny's commercial these two huge guys walk into sonny's and they are so huge and their twins, they eat about 6-7 huge plates of food and walk out patting one girl on the head and the building is level again with them gone |
| |||
Saw it for the first time the other day, but wasn't paying attention until the very end. Great shot of the two at the last part so now I'm hoping to see it again! |

? That sounds really hot. But is sonny's a restaurant on the east coast ? I never heard of it. (darn ) __________________ -ottomun6- It's time to stop sitting on the sidelines and get in there! |

In the south mostly. Barbecue, ribs, chicken, mac & cheese, etc. Nothing for vegetarians, y'know. |
| |||
Here is their website. As UnhulkingFigure said, I couldn't find anything I'd eat on their menu... __________________ God is in the rain. |

Stills from it are here: http://bearmythology.me/tag/sonnys-bbq/ I loved that commercial too. Those guys are gigantic. |

My BBQ cherry was popped by Sonny. Until then, I was a Yankee who never knew pork as ever pulled and BBQ only referred to a get together in the summer with hamburgers and hot dogs. I love Sonny's. Haven't had BBQ better since. |

The commercial is all well and good, but I doubt any BBQ place can top Famous Dave's! That said, those dudes are massive and I'm a fan. :P |

It was so cute that they sat next to each other to eat. I know, the way the shot is arranged, it's required. And I think they ate the bones!! |

Haha, you poor Americans... if only you knew the truth of good flamed food you'd come to SA, where we don't call it a Barbie Queue... no no, we have a more manly word for it... it's called a BRAAI, or Chop en Dop (Steak and Beer, if you will). |
| |||
And we don't do it over no sissy Weber, we chop our own wood and braai our meat the way God intended things to be offered. Haha haha, barbie queue. |

"Flamed" he says. Yeah, no. It's "Barbecue' because that's how "barbacoa" was mangled over time, and "barbacoa" was the way that the Spanish invaders translated the Taino word "barabicu" ... which was invented in the Caribbean islands. It is NOT GRILLED MEAT. It's specifically slow cooking of meat with indirect heat from a smoky fire, using a mix of hot peppers and other spices as a rub for flavor, and then (optionally) saucing the hell out of it afterwards. It has nothing to do with flamed or grilled food. The stuff you get out of a Weber Grill (or any other grill that provides an open flame that directly heats the meat) is GRILLED food. While it's possible to cook Barbecue in an ordinary oven, it's not usually the same flavor-wise. You can use a grill if you prep it correctly, so that the heat source is not under the meat, but if the flame touches the meat, it's no longer barbecue. Now go play with your burnt meat, and leave us to the good stuff. What? YOU said "flame" there. |

Well braai includes indirect cooking of the food as well, in fact steaks are prepared almost the same way as you describe above / or sometimes the other way around, by saucing first / during the braai process. Personal preference. (And some people like their meat charred fyi.) : ) |
