| A contender for the throne Gladiator ID: GOLIATH Real Name: BARRI GRIFFITHS Age: 38 Hometown: NORTH WALES Height: 6ft 6" Weight: 19st 9lbs (275lbs) Barri Griffiths, 26, of Porthmadog, was selected to take on this season's contestants in the guise of Goliath, but will once again become the Celtic Warrior when he appears at Amlwch leisure centre on December 27. Barri said: "Wrestling is something I've always enjoyed and have liked to watch, and I always thought that I would have liked to try it. "Luckily enough I met Orig Williams, by sheer luck, and got involved in his shows." Working with Orig, Barri made a handful of appearances at Bangor's ill-fated Theatr Gwynedd, and was part of the last wrestling show to be performed at the venue. He added: "The last night at Theatr Gwynedd was a great night. "I'd been there three times and the crowd were great, they would really get behind you, a night at Theatr Gwynedd was always an amazing night and it's a shame that there will be no more." During his first series with Gladiators, Barri's specialist event has been the Earthquake, which allows him to utilise his wrestling abilities. He said: "I'm a fairly athletic performer but obviously due to my size I'm not a high flyer, more a powerhouse who uses his strength.
