Bodybuilding Books I'm starting to get serious about working out, and I was wondering if anybody could recommend their favorite bodybuilding manuals/guidebooks. As much as I would enjoy finding some helpful bear to be my workout buddy, I just don't think it's gonna happen out here. Thanks. |

Bill Pearl's The secrets to the inner universe--basically every exercise possible is explained. The book I really like is Super Squats--its only available on the internet but it has some of the best routines and diet for mass building available. |

Ahnuld's "Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding". Some of the info might be a bit outdated, but there are LOADS of exercises in it. And pictures. Oooh, the pictures~ |

I've liked the NSCA's Strength Training book. Amazon.com: Strength Training: Lee E. Brown: Books Parts are advanced, but not quite chem degree level. And lots of exercises, routines, etc. Not exactly mega muscle eyecandy, but a good solid book, I've thought. (And not put out by a supp company or anything like that.) |

great reference book... one i like (and found at a cosco for cheap!) is Strength Training Anatomy, 2nd ed. by Fr?d?ric Delavier Yes it's in English (at least the copy i have--though it's a revised edition of Guide des Mouvements de Musculation for those of you in France). It directly relates all the gym exercises you either already know or are about to learn to the actual muscles they will help you develop. it includes useful pointers and caveats to help you avoid injury and to better identify what you DO injure should you be so unfortunate. it's a little like having a physical therapist for a personal trainer. __________________ less is more, but Bigger is Better |

Not strictly a training book but any of the Three Musketeers books is worth a look in for the diet and training plans of Porthos (which appear to be nothing more than eat and drink as much as you like, and punch as many Cardinal's guards as you like!) __________________ The stronger they are, the more muscled they are |

first it would depend on your goals. basic books are the best. others are just stuff taken from magazines and put into book form. If your a serious bodybuilder then check some of the books from www.elietefitness.com. also buy a gray's anatomy, strength training anatomy get a good book on nutrition, like nutritional timing. just look in the bodybuilding section. but use judgement . check to see if what you getting is what u need. i have a huge list if you want more details |
