Unfortunately, yes. A couple of years ago. Just ignore it, it's filled with a bunch of close minded fools who care about no one but themselves.

If they had any sense and wanted the real truth (not the bastardized things they refer to as articles), they would get their heads out of the clouds and actually listen to someone besides themselves in their pathetic closed-minded opinions of a species they are not above, and are still a part of.

...*snort* Come on, guys, ED is for fun. They take the absolute worst part about anything they write about and make it seem as if that's ALL it's about. Overgeneralization to the max. No one with a lick of sense takes anything that they put up 100% seriously, and if they do, they're probably some bored, insecure teenager. MM's right: just ignore it if you don't like it, but I find it kinda funny. :P

PS Though, every once in a while, they do hit on an uncomfortable truth. >_>

If you want a truly funny wiki, go to Uncyclopedia. If nothing else, it's less offensive. I don't believe we (this site) have an article there.

Indeed.

And I agree, especially since today I watched the movie "W." which IMO, put Bushie in a better light for me, and Dick-wad in a much worse one (which is saying something of course). I'm not religious, but if one day someone said he was the Anti-Christ, I'd totally believe them.

The place makes fun of everything. I think that most of the people who visit that site are quite aware of that. Going in there and expecting to be able to take anything seriously is... Well, rather silly. There might be a few truths in there, but most of the time, it's more or less understood that it's going to be making fun of everything that it can touch.

Far from satirical, I find the page cited to be debasing and obnoxious. It's just plain gay bashing in my book.

Well, in all seriousness, dude, there ARE people on here who write stories about underage boys having sex. Which, you know, REALLY isn't kosher. At all. This goes back to the criticism argument: just because someone points it out as a negative doesn't mean it's not true, or that you should automatically go on the defensive. Sometimes they're right.

I'd generally agree on that one. Some of the things I have found on this forum are not "kosher" in the least bit, a lot of which crosses the comfort/legal boundary with me.

So, while I will give someone the benefit of the doubt, that doesn't mean that what pages like that say is always wrong. I'm assuming there was some reason that the links that Encyclopedia Dramatica referenced are no longer available.....

Personally I find the site hilarious. They pretty much mock everyone, so at least they're equal-opportunity offenders. You can always change the article if you want, but be warned they're more likely to go after you if you do.

They have an article on everything. :P Look, they make fun of everything, good or not. Anime, furries, Bush, Obama. There's an article called "Jews Did 9/11"(includes a picture of a Hasidic Jew roundhouse-kicking the WTC), as well as an article on skinheads (includes a picture of a guy holding a Nazi flag with a toilet full of excrement for a brain). They are equal-opportunity haters. It really isn't something to get worked up about unless they mention you as an individual, in which case you'd better be damn sure what they're saying about you isn't true.
