2004 Olympia Show

I don't know if this is a stupid question, but does the 2004 olympia competion get aired on television, or like pay per view, or not at all? I tried looking but couldnt find anything. And if it was on television in the past I was never able to see it since I didn't know when it was.

Thanks for any help

yup,

it's been on pay-per-view the last few years;usually once live&re-run a few times after that.they don't always promote it as much as they should, keep your eyes open.

I bought last year's pay-per-view and was very disappointed. It's just not a well-put-together production. The commentary was lame (I think they had Dorian Yates chiming in, who is dry as toast.) If you just want to oogle muscle, I guess it did its job but it wasn't good as a sporting event.

Of course, I may be biased because I go to the Olympia every year to see it live in person and it's just not the same on TV.

Its been a while since I checked this out but at one point it was possible to watch the Olympia for free on the internet. That changed to a pay-per-view only status, but it should still be available to watch in that manner.

Glammaman: Chris Dickerson didn't earn his reputation through public speaking either, but I've seen him on TV offering commentary on bodybuilding contests and he is eloquent and insightful. There are plenty of intelligent and charasmatic bodybuilders out there who could really add to a televised bodybuilding show and help make it more interesting to people who might not yet understand the sport. But Yates is just a dud.

The difference in person is hard to describe, but I suppose it's like any other sporting event: it's just very exciting to be in the stands sitting with all the cheering (and booing) that goes on. Not to mention being able to see many of the athletes up close in the Expo hall.

And yes, I believe they have offered a live simulcast of the Olympia over the internet, but I don't think you could view it after it was over. The 2004 Olympia is getting a complete makeover so I'm not sure what will be different this year.
