mutador, sadly I missed them, and I heard the Americans, who had a good chance to sweep, did quite poorly...the gold medal throw was less than what all three Americans had thrown earlier in the year. i find it more sad that I missed seeing all the beef of the shot putter variety, which is what I dig for too.

My thanks to Lukllulls for those last two results (had a slow connection), but are you ready for this stat:

Average Bodyweight of all lifters who won gold: 179lbs
Average Snatch per lifter who won gold: 391lbs (220% bodyweight)

Or in other words, on average each lifter was lifting over twice their own bodyweight on the snatch (which is one fluid movement). I think that says it all!

I can't wait to see those big man lifting the heaviest weights...
Especially two men...
