Ejaculation Affecting Working Out Just curious what everyone's thoughts are on ejaculation pre/postworkout or abstaining from it all together to hopefully improve gains. It seems like most sources I've read basically say that testosterone will increase after ejaculation so it would be a good thing to do post-workout out. Also that abstaining from ejaculating doesn't really increase testosterone except on the 7th day? (According to a Chinese research study) Also curious on people's thoughts on ejaculating on, non-workout days? Here's an article done by bodybuilding.com basically summing it up. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/south99.htm |
| |||
Summing up According to the article, to use sexual function to improve your muscle growth, and athletic performance (2 different goals, according to the article,) you should: 1. pre-workout meal should consist of lipids and protein - both of which have negligible impacts on insulin levels. 2. Prior to a workout (weight lifting training) you should get yourself sexually aroused (read porn, think sexy thoughts) to achieve heightened sexual state, increased testosterone levels (without achieving orgasm) and increase aggression. [quotation from article: Research demonstrates that testosterone levels rise as a response to sexual stimuli. Therefore, an athlete could benefit pre-workout by being exposed pre-workout to sexual stimuli. The athlete could then exercise with increased testosterone levels and aggression. ] 2. Have a post workout protein drink [quotation from article: Post-workout, the athlete should consume a protein drink with flax oil or olive oil. Lipids facilitate the passive permeation of the cell wall by sex hormones.] 3. After the workout, and the protein drink, jack off (excuse me, "achieve ejaculation") to remove "bad" cells (improves immune-system and enhancing recovery ability. PLus other technical terms). [quotation: One hour post-exercise, the athlete should achieve ejaculation. This will increase the natural level of killer cells, thus increasing immune-system function and enhancing recovery abilities. The increase in killer cells will prevent over-training. ] 4. Flex and think to yourself, "Who's the stud!" [positive reinforcement] For a longer term goal, such as an important game or athletic event, don't come for a week, then jack off after the event. [quotation from article: You may also choose to postpone the achievement of ejaculation for seven days so as to maximize testosterone on a day of the athletes choosing - i.e. on the hardest training or competition day. If the athlete chooses this protocol, ejaculation should be achieved on the seventh day, post workout and according to the above protocol, so as to avoid the negative feedback suppression of LH demonstrated on day eight of abstinence.] Mdlftr |

Nice layman's translation for the article. I think I might consider this before deciding to head to my gym. Only I had to find a discreet place to "achieve ejaculation" after working out. |
| |||
I want to say I remember reading somewhere that its recommend to jerk off up to an hour after your workout, probably the sooner the better though! haha |
| |||
I mean, I thought some people were cuckoo for talking about hypnosis to get muscle, but really? Planned pre-workout masturbation? Are you ...really that desperate? Just go to the gym. damn. It's not that complicated. |

Second off, you would be suprised how such a small amount of hormone (signaling molecules) can have an affect on the body. I was simply putting sharing information I thought others would find interesting that has had scientific studies done on it by multiple research companies. And I asked for everyone's opinion on it which you gave and I respect that. |
| |||
Aren't you at all interested in how the human body works? Your sex organs play just as big as of a role as the organs in you body (not as critical as say your heart), but they will play a big role in the biochemistry of your body. |

Pathetic. |

Wow, really? :/ I don't mean to take the flamebait, but god, you two sound like asses. This is some good information if it's physiologically sound. Anecdotally, I can tell you that I've never had a good workout when I let my hormones get the best of me. I'm apt to believe this article. Now, do you have to go shouting to everyone that you plan to wack one off after every workout in order to get hyooge bicepz? No, but if this isn't a place to discuss a matter like this calmly and maturely (albeit tactfully), then where else is? Sex and its related activities and aspects have proven to be a huge effect on human behavior in other respects, so why not athletic performance and bodybuilding? I think you two are just being close-minded and immature about the whole thing. |

Well, listen, there are two things that irritate me about this thread. 1. Pseudo-science In the bodybuilding, strength training, fitness, mmg, what-have-you conglomerate community you have so much pseudo-science that it's almost like swinging pendulums and binding spells and carrying amulets. You give me one "scientific fact" swarming around on sites like this and I could probably produce another "scientific" fact to counter it.... on the same site. And, so, not trying to insult, but there are just some desperate people, people desperate to get big on this forum. Combine these together, and you have people chasing after muscles using the most nonsensical things imaginable. 2. Overly PC I am all about trying to make myself grow, and help my boyfriend get to where he will be happy, too. I am just as enthusiastic about the next person. But, there is a _lot_ on this forum this has been accommodated for, such as incest, pedophilia, steroid use, and batshit pseudo-science like hypnosis, charms/spells, and stuff like this. While a board based on a topic like MMG is necessarily based on the respect of each member for the other's different traits, interests, and fetishes, someone has to say something about some stuff the crosses the line. What has happened is that people, in an effort to be respected themselves, have adopted a live-let-live policy that would not hold true outside this forum, and everyone has kind of become rather desensitized to semi-legal and perverse or potentially harmful material. So, sorry if I am rocking the boat, but maybe it should be rocked every now and again. |

As I said, this is an enthusiast site, so threads that go into unorthodox but related areas shouldn't really be a problem. We don't criticize a baseball forum for having a thread focusing on minutiae like, I dunno, swing angle or something, right? Because that's what they're there to talk about. Your comments on it being a worthless idea would fit if someone had just asked out of the blue, but the OP came here with an article that presents scientific evidence for its claims. If you want to attack the evidence, be my guest, but what you're doing is like watching a scientist explain gravity and demonstrate it by dropping something, and then saying, "Oh, that's a load of bull. Anyone who believes that is a loser." Relevant comments come with facts, trolls deny without reason. However, I do agree that there's no small amount of activity on these boards that I would like to end, and soon. So, by all means, go and raise your issues with those people on their threads. However, this thread is, at worst, harmless, and at best, opens up a dialogue on an area that fits with the criteria I mentioned earlier. Similarly, steroids can be dangerous, like any other kind of powerful drug, but they're overly-demonized, and the best way to protect people in a community where their use is MORE than prevalent is to educate them on their effects. (I'd also like to argue that our limited understanding of the human mind means that a discussion of hypnosis that doesn't involve the exchange of money is also harmless.) I'm all for rocking the boat, but you're just swiping at air. If the latter is your aim, I suggest grabbing some wood and getting to it. |
| |||
I tend to agree that this probably isn't worth worrying about. It's sort of like saying that fluoride in water might be sapping your precious bodily fluids. However, if "achieving ejaculation", either before or after a workout acts as a motivator for you, I say go for it and enjoy. |

Niggaaaa...... im jacked as fuck I jack off everyday as many times as i want... so if ur saying its pathetic to beat off for gains ur a straight up moron im jacked as fuck and i try to jack off twice before the gym and after so.... suck a fuckin dick! ya bishhh, and oh yea im jacked |

http://journals.lww.com/cjsportsmed/...ADx20100319xMP Alas, ejaculation causes prolactin release in males, which enables fat storage. personally, having sex just prior to training is very counter productive. But seriously, I doubt any of this has practical results.. __________________ . My morphs can be found here: http://www.musclegrowth.org/forum/sh...ad.php?t=19127 |

I think it was Brainiac which had this kind of experiment. The footballers were compared with men who just had some before the match started. And if it was coincidence or not who knows but those who just got off won the match. |
