Training with Cerebral Palsy (CP) I have a touch of CP (Cerebral Palsy) on my right side, which makes free-weight lifting bit harder to do. When doing alternate dumb-bell curl excerise, I noticed myself wanting to aiding my right side by keeping the dumb-bell steady using my left hand. However, I am curious by doing that, how do I make sure I am only assisting my right hand in keeping it steady and not doing the exercise for my right hand? All ready had a ganglion cyst on my right hand and rather not repeat an eposide of that. Any tips for doing calf raises (have seated machine, but haven't noticed a dunking machine in the gym [could it go by another name?]) would be welcomed to. I do get a burn on my left, but don't think the right side is getting anything out of it. FYI, I did this exercise as alternate for each leg, because I was suspious whether I was working out the right side or not. I can lift up my heal on my right, but not very well.
