Rosemary and Thyme

Was watching a repeat of one of the programs I like called Rosemary and Thyme on ITV3 tonight.
One of the scenes I found particularly enjoyable is when a delivery man arrives at a photographers house to make a delivery. Anyway the guy is played by Oliver Price (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1412984/), who was just steaming in a tank top that showed a little pec-cleavage with a rough unbuttoned shirt on top.

But wait, there's more!

He gets drafted by the photographer to pose as a barbarian for the cover of a novel! But by far the best bit is when the photographer has to answer the phone and leaves the room. He poses a little, then wanders around to find Laura Thyme (One of the leads in the story) hiding under a desk reading a book, but staring up at him. He just goes all cute and says 'I'm a barbarian..', to which Laura answers, 'And i'm a hobbit in a hole.'

And who says there's no hope for good old British telly?

When i've dug up a click, i'll post it. Or if someone else can find it, that'd be awesome.

Damn he's HUGE! And pretty darn sexy in the face too! Too bad I missed that but thanks for the hot description! Would LOVE to see a clip if you can find it!

To bad his career seems not to be going anywhere because I think I would watch anything he might be in just for a moment of watching him on the big screen.

It's awesome to see a big guy in a tv-show clip that isn't SF (not that I dislike SF, far from it!) But it's a shame this was just a one time appearance. I would love to see a show with a big muscleman as a regular character that wasn't an action or SF show. Just a nice show about people with one character who happens to be an uberstud.

Even on some action shows, the supposedly "big" guys aren't really that big, like Casey on "Chuck." (They're always referring to how big and muscular he is.

I think some of the problem may be finding big guys who can act well. There are quite a few bodybuilders in the casting directories, but they're usually relegated to background or minor roles. And usually stereotypical parts - gym nuts, bouncers, henchmen, security guards, soldiers, football players, etc.

It may also be that producers think that someone too big may put off the general viewer. US television tends to cast people in a very narrow window of attractiveness. UK television is much better at casting realistic looking people.

At least they could use really muscular guys to play superheroes like they used to do back in the Hercules films and sword and sandal flicks. Take for instance the last superman movie, come on that Brandon Routh guy was quite skinny for superman. There is a short film which is sort of like a pilot for a superman movie where Mike O'Hearn plays the role of the man of steel and he's simply phenomenal. Real muscle at last, and he's not the biggest possible guy.

Usually I refrain from posting material that I come across because.. well... I don't really handle rejection.

I think seeing as how something as inocuous as Rosemary and Thyme seems to have gone down well.. well... wait till you see what I should be able to dig up next time!
