I just saw that too. I owe many dreams to him. Just one more reason we need stem cell research. __________________ God is in the rain. |

Tribute to Christopher Reeves I'm happy his passing has been noticed (- thanks omelissokomos) . He made a profound impression upon contemporary youth growing up in the late 70's and 80's. To me he represented triumph over adversity and his appeal went beyond the physical to a deeper level. Here's a link to a tribute by the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation). Indeed. It really is a sad day. When you think of the odds this man went aganst and won, just to be taken out so quickly by an infection. He really was a superman in real life. Let's hope that doctors do find a way to help repair the damage in others with similar situations soon even though Mr. Reeve wasn't able to. He will be missed. I was never a big fan of his (liked him in Noises Off and Deathtrap(?), though), but I had to respect the determination and dignity he showed in dealing with his injury. So, yeah, I guess I'll miss him. |
