Britain's got talent

is a television talent show in the UK akin to American Idol (but dealing with all talents not just singing). In next week's edition (to be broadcast on May 16 2009) one of the talents is posing (from a black am bodybuilder). It will be interesting to see what Piers Morgan (former editor of the Mirror) makes of it as during his reign 85% of the stories published in the Mirror treated bodybuilding in a negative manner.

Just to get this straight....and mind you American talking here.... but uhm.... Britain's Got talent isn't akin to American Idol. Britain Idol, if they have such a thing would be what our American Idol was patterned after cause just like X got Talent, they had it first. Simon Cowell produced the shows there first then brought them to America. Britain, Poland, whatever Idol = American Idol and Britain's Got Talent = America's Got Talent, except we didn't think of these first. We don't always come up with the great ideas.

Britain's Got Talent's american equivilant is America's Got Talent.

In Britain, we had the original "idol" show, called "Pop Idol"

Ps. Just a hint on how to enjoy your present, break out the sticks and the marshmallows and drive about 100 - 150km away. That's sweet, it's nice that you'd take the time to show concern for their protection. Given your unhappiness with the intended recipients I wouldn't think preserving their ability to reproduce would be high on your list of goals!

I can (un)happily say that all these Idol shows started right down here in lil ol New Zealand, with the FIRST Pop Stars group, True Bliss (which like most groups only lasted a short time, with a group developed to mock them called True Piss ).

Oh, we also had a take on the Survivor series, called Treasure Island. The first two seasons were brilliant, as the teams actually worked together, there were some personality clashes, but instead of voting team mates off, each of the losing team members all had to answer some questions about their challange of the day, questions about their team members, then on a map, point out where they thought the treasure was. The person with the lowest score was then kicked off.
Then they started Cleberity Treasure Island and it just sucked after that.
