Fluid on my knee In the last week or so I've noticed that my left knee seems to get swollen when I workout. A doctor friend said it's probably fluid build up from either a tear or arthritis. This bugs the crap out of me because I have had one thing after another over the last 6 months. If it continues I will see my doctor next week. Anyone have any advice? I had a hernia back in Dec, a tear in my supraspinatus tendon in my shoulder and now this. I've gained almost 30# of fat because I can't lift like I used to. It's just frustrating. |

Well, I don't claim to be any kind of specialist, but if you're feeling pain, I do have a rule of thumb. Stop working it. Seriously. Take a break, hit the treadmill a bit more, cut back on calories some to stop the weight buildup. Oh, and watch your form. Thinking about it, movements that put lots of forces on the knee probably aren't a good idea - leg extensions come to mind. Squats are probably okay, if you stop when things start to hurt. |
