I always work out near him...

Theres this kid in my gym thats there every night i am. ime sure he's there way more than me!! anyway, we're about the same size, look similar but ime obviously gaining and he's not. i wear the tight athletic fit tees that show off my thick muscle pumps i get from the cables. he wears a sleeveless tee but his arms are still kinda puny, some muscle. ive seen him since i started going at the end of last year, and ive progressed but he hasnt. last time iwas doin tricep pulldowns and he was at the cable next to me. wen i started a new set, he obviously waited and watched cuz i see him sitting 2 ft away not lifting. it was uncomfortable. and i dont know how to reach out to him. i ALWAYS bump into him, and i wanna interact. it would definily happen naturally if i was with a friend, but i usually work out alone. Does anyone hav sum good ideas for interacting with him? like certain body language or something? maybe it sounds stupid but ime getting anxious!

When you're doing some exercise where a spotter is appropriate, like bench press, ask him to spot you. Or offer to spot him sometime. Then you can strike up a conversation from there. Or you can just be friendly and say "Hey, we always seem to be in here at the same time..." and go from there.

Specifically, from asking him to spot, you should go to, "Thanks man, that really helped. Maybe I need a workout partner!"
