Iphone Bodybuilding Apps There are several bodybuilding apps out there for the iPhone. Has anyone used any of them and can offer a review? I'm going to start using PumpOne's "FitnessBuilder" today to try it out, but I'm not sure it's the best. There are lot of these apps out there like: "Muscle Gain", a bodybuilder-oriented nutrition log program that focuses on protein, calorie, and carbohydrate, both actual daily intake and daily goals "iFitness", another exercise manager like Fitness Builder "Fitness", another food diary app that analyzes your nutrition in more detail. Has anyone used any of these? Thanks, Bulkybud |

No apps yet, but I only got my iphone a couple weeks ago. I've thought about Muscle Gain. BTW, do you think we could get tapatalk installed here? Then we could read this fourm on our iphones easily. See http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?p=1865157 The plug in for the server side is free. The app for iphone users is $3. |

I didn't know what tapatalk was until you mentioned it and I looked it up- a way to access this forum via the iPhone in a format designed for the iPhone, right? You'd have to talk to the moderators here about that one. About the Muscle Gain app... I like it, but wish it covered more nutrients than just protein, calories, and carbs. Other than that I like the way it sets your nutritional goals for the day and once you enter your food intake you get an instant update on whether you have not reached, met, or exceeded your goals in those three areas. You set up your profile by entering your age, gender, height, current body weight, target body weight, and activity level and then it calculates your nutritional goals for the day. If you turn on the muscle gain feature, your calculated protein requirements really increase, which makes great sense. This is app is really focused toward the bodybuilder. However, the "Fitness" app does most of this and covers about everything on the government's "Nutrition Facts" food label. Sodium, potassium, saturated vs. unsaturated fat, sugars vs. other carbs, fiber, and cholesteral are all included. For the same amount of tedious data entry on your daily food log, Fitness seems to yield more return on your time investment. I'm going to start working with Fitness tomorrow and see how it works. bulkybud, another app you may want to consider is the recently released Flex (http://www.jumibe.com). I actually developed Flex to log my own workouts because I wasn't satisfied with other apps out there. Flex is aimed at bodybuilders and focuses on workout logging and body measurement tracking. I'm planning on adding some more bodybuilding features including nutrition in a future release. |

Nesguru, I just bought your "Flex" app and will be checking it out. At a quick glance it looks pretty well organized and potentially very useful. Thanks, Bulkybud |

Rob Kreider will be releasing an app named mySupplements that looks interesting: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...ndid=497428318 It doesn't yet show up in the app store. |

Looks interesting. Will be looking for it in the App Store. Bulkybud |

iPhone Apps I love to work out and I'm and Apple nerd. Here's what I have found...for nutrition (and aesthetics) and for FREE get Lose It! It's customizable and much better than Muscle Gainer. For workouts I have tried Fitness Track and FitPhone, FitPhone keeps getting updated and I just love the interface more. It also does graphs about your training and can keep a log on measurements and weight. |

First time poster, but thought I might as well weigh in anyways... I use iFitness, but definitely wouldn't use it for bodybuilding purposes. It's a good app in a lot of ways (especially since it's fairly low-cost), but it's very limited. It has a limited number of exercises, and doesn't have any way to show for variation within those without creating new "custom" exercises. That's not a difficult process, but annoying, then difficult to keep track of all your custom variations. In short, great app for beginners, casual gym-goers, or someone who wants to keep a high-level view of their progress, but not sophisticated enough for anything more detailed than that. |

you might want to look on itunes.. there's one app that I heard about, think it's called get fit.. i don't have the iphone.. but I was impressed when I saw it. Does anyone know if there are good bodybuilding aps for the Blackberry? |

iRipped I liked iRipped bodybuilding app on the iPhone. It had every thing for up to an intermediate bodybuilder. It picks top exercises for each body part as well as top food guide and supplements 9.5/10 http://itunes.apple.com/app/iripped/id405895045?mt=8 |

this might sound like a dumb question but can you buy an app even if you don't have an itouch, phone, ect? Like does it work just on your comp? |
| |||
No :-) to use apps you need to have a device, which is not your computer. |

I don't know if there is "best" workout log app :-), but Gymaholic is a good one. |
| |||
Have tried almost all these apps and still I?m not satisfied. |

Been using Jefit app, but it's for tracking your workouts and logging in what you did each day. Nice to see what the possible 1RM can be. __________________ Watch me grow at http://bodyspace.bodybuilding.com/Ragetiger/ I do keep a few other shots in the scraps folder http://www.furaffinity.net/user/ragetiger/ |

I know the original OP is asking for an iOS app, but what I use is Fitness Buddy on my Android phone. It has all the elements I was looking for in a training app. A scheduler, you can make a customized routine and it has over 3,000 illustrated workouts. |
