Any thought on this idea Hi guys and gals (?) I was chatting online to a mate of mine back in England last week (as we have done every week since I left) and we got onto the subject of making websites. Now, for ages I've been thinking about keeping a diary and the only reason I haven't is because it would only be me that read it as it would contain all my private thoughts that may not sit well with those around me. So I was thinking that as the internet is a place where you can stay anonymous then it might be worth creating it online. What do you guys think? Please bare in mind that I am still firmly locked in the closet as far as the outside world is concerned (and I ain't coming out anytime soon) but here, as no one knows who I am, I can have the freedom to say exactly what I feel. Lastly, as I'm not too good at creating sites for the interweb I was wondering if you thought it would be better to use something like geocities or set up something on a blogger. Anyway, I'll also talk it over with my mate tomorrow night (he doesn't know I'm gay so shhh) and see what he and you lot have to say. Later guys (and gals) __________________ There are 2 rules to being a success in life: 1. Never give out all the information. |

Thanks for that Richard, I don't think mine will be that thorough (or well made) as I'm going to try to remain anonymous, but who knows, someday you may find the full me on the interweb (but hopefully not in the obituaries ) __________________ There are 2 rules to being a success in life: 1. Just a little update. I've created a site on blogger at http://sithspawn78.blogspot.com/ There's bugger all on it at the moment but that should soon change, but as it's nearly 1:30am I really can't be arsed to do anymore on it. __________________ There are 2 rules to being a success in life: 1. Sith, You could also go with xanga: www.xanga.com/ethernet_jock like me. No matter what - I enjoy the blog community and I've still yet to be sorry about having used it. |

I'm partial to www.wonk-out.com these days, but that's just the poilitical animal in me I've been looking into blog software, and decided to go with roller http://www.rollerweblogger.org. It is the only jsp/tomcat/mysql freeware that I could find that seems to have a major user community behind it. Who knows, maybe now I'll even be motivated to finish www.musclegrowth.net... Sith, Welcome to the world of blogging. I went to yours and posted a comment. I love my blog because it lets me vent. It's very cathartic. I've got to do another bloody update now!! I've moved my blog to Myspace there's a link on there to the blog somewhere. It's the same blog as before, I've transfered it all over, but I'm going to be updating it on there from now on instead of on blogspot. __________________ There are 2 rules to being a success in life: 1. Okay, I just HAVE to ask. Does ANYONE know what "blog" stands for. I've thought about it ever since I heard it and I haven't come up with anything that makes sense. Also, is ANY online diary a blog? Or what? I have a LiveJournal (please note the not so subtle way of drawing attention to it =^^=). Is THAT a blog??? Do I have to call it that? I don't really like the word blog... And yes.... blogs (or LJ's or WHATever you call them) can be therapeutic but I keep mine more of like a reminder that I have to work on the stories for my site... ~Ashley __________________ My problem is that I construct fanciful ideals next to which everything in my life seems dull and artificial. |

FYI, blog is short for web log. It's just an online diary/journal really. __________________ There are 2 rules to being a success in life: 1. Never give out all the information. |

I can't believe it, I put a link on this thread to the new blog, then I check the site metre for the old one to find that people have been going to that one after linking from this thread!! AAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! What's the point in moving the thing if everyone's going to go to the old one? __________________ There are 2 rules to being a success in life: 1.
