Taylor Lautner to be a Superhero "Taylor Lautner has been cast in the title role of "Stretch Armstrong," Universal Pictures confirmed to Access Hollywood. "The Twilight Saga" star will take on the role of the rubbery hero based on the Hasbro toy" I hope he streches those muscles bigger, and bigger! (and another parts of his anatomy) |
| |||
I've read in a bunch of interviews that he's actually miserable about his current shape and wants nothing more than to slim back down to his old build. Poor guy. I hope Hollywood doesn't force him into something he doesn't want just in the interest of making bank off him. |

If that's how he actually feels, somebody should force him into a psych ward |

Of all celebrities right now, he might be the one I pity most. Forced to adopt a body type he's not comfortable with, paraded around like some object when he's gone on the record about his discomfort with so many people seeing him shirtless...and he's not even that good of an actor. The second his looks fade, his career dries up and he gets relegated to guest appearances on TV shows. |

Too true, its easy to be a flash in the pan in the movie biz and if one is not careful they can end up coming out on the other side worse off. The studios and producers are in it for the money by capitalizing on his popularity and also trying to make him more financially attractive to maximize their return on investment. He on the other hand has to be thinking about the long-term and who of us at 19 years old gave a damn about the future?! And you're also right that as a gifted martial artist he would most certainly not enjoy being bigger as it is antiproductive to his skills. |
| |||
Maybe I am missing something, but in the photos I have seen I would hardly rank his physique in the limited mobility category. I also seem to recall reports of him campaigning the producers that he would put on as much mass as he needed to in order to keep playing the role in Twilight. So, it seems disingenious to now be putting it out there he dislikes being big, not that he is even remotely so (IMHO). |
| |||
Well, maybe limited mobility isn't quite the right term, but limitations in flexibility and also in agility as it pertains to his martial arts skills. And if indeed he initiated the discussions about getting bigger in order to keep his role then yes it would seem disingenious, but as I understood it the producer(s) required it of him as a requirement to get the role in the first play when he signed onto the series project. If that was the case, then he had to make a compromise between the taking roles and their requirements or maintaining his personal preference of physique. I don't know if it makes a lot of difference, once this role is over he can either leverage his star status to get roles that better suit his preferences or decide they're not worth the sacrifice. |

He wouldn't be the first "Twilight" series star to be replaced. One of the women (no idea who?) was replaced from movie #1 to movie #2 and no one noticed. Face it, he's a lucky SOB who has a great job at the moment. I guess the p*ssing and moaning about his body type are to titillate the teenage girl audience ("Oooh! How BIG can Taylor get??! OMG! Ohhhh!") It may all be studio hype to generate interest in a guy, who, admittedly, can't really act. Leonardo DiCaprio, on the other hand, appeared in a movie called "The Basketball Diaries" when he was around the same age. Lanky, average looks, but the difference was that he could ACT. Face it, movie stars can ACT to give the impression that they are better looking than they are. As Lawrence Olivier said to Dustin Hoffman when they were filming "Marathon Man", and Dustin stayed up two nights in a row to "better portray" a bedraggled, tired, panicked guy on the run, Sir Larry turned to him and said, "It's not necessary to experience an emotion to portray it. It's called acting dear boy." [Delivered in best upper class snotty British accent] Mdlftr |

I think part of it is that he's merely unused to the extra weight. He knew how exactly to move his body before he added the extra muscle, and didn't really train with it. So his reasoning is slightly understandable, but I think he's mostly just being bitchy about it. That said, I do consider it kind of hot in that with only that amount of body weight added on, he already doesn't like it. Having someone like a martial artist would make a good forced-MG story. __________________ In the MGS FC's I am Psycho Mantis! ...Which you normally wouldn't expect, coming from someone who's -- lessee -- all of 18 years, 2 days old! (Note, I'm not ragging on Taylor in the least... I just think it's important to keep in mind that for all of his fame, exposure, training, etc, etc... he's really still just a kid! And entitled to, once in a while, act his age. ) |

You make a good point, I'll give you that for sure. __________________ In the MGS FC's I am Psycho Mantis! "Put your controller on the floor...Put it down as flat as you can...That's good. Now I will move your controller by the power of my will alone!" |

I think Taylor is not that hot, not such a good actor and doesn't have a beautiful face, like Leonardo had at that age. However, if he said he would keep gaining muscle for the upcoming movies, well he should stick to it. I mean, life is not always as you want it to be. You have to make some compromises. I mean, if I were paid millions to gain muscle while being famous knowing I am not a great actor, I don't think I would complain. Let's go, Taylor, you can do it! Lol. |
| |||
What? When did this happen? I didn't get this memo! hehehe |
| |||
Lol! Just ask Taylor, he knows a great deal about that! |
