Spike TV--Untold--Testosterone Boys Hey there-- As a lot of first posts start out... I've been lurking for a while and I'm finally getting around to posting. I'll write a more formal intro in the next day or so. In the meantime, just wanted everyone to know that tonight's episode of Spike TV's show "Untold" is called "Testosterone Boys." It's described as "teenagers' obsession with building the perfect body at any cost." I saw the promo the other day and it looks like a can't miss show. It'll be on tonight at 9:00pm (eastern) with a repeat on Sunday morning at 10:00. Keith |

yeah i already posted about it a while ago. can't wait!! |
| |||
Spike Tv Thanks for the heads up. It's appreciated. I love being infromed about different types of shows or documentaries that feature male bodybuilders. |
| |||
Anyone out there that may be able to record it and burn it on DVD or something? I don't have a VCR, and I missed tonites show, and I have to work when it repeats! |
| |||
i missed the first 20 min. it's teenage bodybuilders.relatively respectful.concentrated on the various family reactions,from very supportive to disdainful.i thought it was surprisingly good. |
| |||
I found it really interesting (did anyone notice it was the BBC that did the documentary). One thing that stuck out in my mind was the fact that the guy who had a good nutritionist working with him won (1st in weight and then 1st overall). It did provide some interesting insight in some things people do to loose that last bit of water weight/fat. Overall it was fairly entertaining and informative, a good balance in fact. One thing I wish they had done was use wider shots. They tended to get right on top of the three guys they were following. You didn't really get to see a good shot of their compeition to see how they really stacked up. Scott __________________ In a world of old memories... I agree with you Scott, it was well done and not too judgemental of the bodybuilders lifestyle. I was somewhat surprised that the topic of steroids only came up briefly but I was pleased actually that the focus was on how hard it is to compete and that the training itself is only part of it. The diet and mental attitude are critical too. Interesting also in the very different reactions and support from the families of the bodybuilders and also what is was like to be around them during the last couple of weeks of the very strict diet (one guy was an assh--- to his Mom I thought). Most of the shots of the competitions were from a backstage sideways type angle. I wish they had a shot of all the competitors in each group from the standard audience and judges vantage point. That sounds like a documentary that was on in the UK about 3 yrs ago. It had about 4 guys in it - a guy who was yelling at his mom to get some tan off him or something in a shower and was popping a ton of pills and one guy who's dad was really unsupportive and a totally focussed guy (Who i remember was really rude to his own parents on camera) with the nutritionist who was wanting to take something like 50lbs of food with him to the contest - some argument about taking yams or sweet potatoes across state lines! |
| |||
UKBeefy> That's what was shown (I'm pretty sure). Though they never did show if he was able to get all of that chicken and sweet potatoes he planned to bring pass airport security... my guess is that they just picked up stuff when they got to Pittsburg. Actually 2 of the three guys were rude to their parents. I'm not too surprised though considering that with the stress they were under added onto the low BF they probably would have snapped at a pencil falling off a desk. My question now is... if this was shown in the UK 3 years ago, where are these guys now? hmm... 3 years is a long time in bodybuilding and since they were all 19 at the time that would make them around 22 to 24 now. I would bounce over to the Repetrope site or USA Muslce (for those that have memberships) and pull up their profiles and see ... I can check later when I get back home from work. I was able to catch it this AM before I had to go (it's almost done now, then its off to work). It was pretty well done, but I can see where they are snappish -- as it was said, with the stress levels they are under, and when you don't get enough to eat, I get a bit moody myself, and I don't look anywhere near the look of these guys. (It would be nice tho) Yes, this was a BBC documentary that was done when they covered the 2002 Teen/Colligiate Nationals. |
| |||
Oh, I almost forgot to add ... What are the odds of them picking three of my faves from the 2002 NPC T/C Nat'ls to follow? |
| |||
Well one of the guys has gone on to compete I think more recently. |
| |||
testerone boys that show was HOT! i tried to record it on my vcr but got so excited i forgot to hit the record button. let me know if it comes on again... __________________ http://www.bigmuscle.com/profile.phtml?uid=jockga |

I found a bittorrent link of it here: http://torrentspy.com/search.asp?que...x=0&submit.y=0 The link also has other bodybuilding movies: Jay Cutler - New, Improved and beyond, Ronnie Coleman - The Cost of Redemption, Arnold Classic - 2004, and others check it out. (Here's the exact link to the Testosterone Boys Movie, http://torrentspy.com/download.asp?id=79853) Last edited by Cai; March 5th, 2005 at 07:18 AM. |

Spike TV Untold Testosterone Boys You guys are the best. Thank you for the input and links. Much appreciated! |
| |||
actually getting the torrent is better mrkman, I only went DC++ because I couldn't find the torrent. thanks Cai. |
| |||
After watching it.... After getting the file, I finally had a chance to watch it all the way through. The thing that got me was that all these people have some coach or support system. when they say in the film that people get emotionally unstable and can't see themselves objectivly, I feel like that's the reason I'm off-again-on-again. I don't have anyone to keep my head strait. Does anyone else here feel that way? All my friends are not at all interested in muscle and I don't really know how to meet people (in the real world) who are. |
| |||
Thanks for the torrent link, Cai. Took me two whole days to download the show, but it was worth the wait. Man, that was inspiring stuff! |
| |||
Cant get it to work. Do I have to download something to see the files? |
| |||
If you've completed the movie download but can't view it on your computer, you may need to get DivX. |
| |||
Can someone explain in simple terms the steps to being to able to download this item. What software do you need to start? What do u do next ? (sorry I am a dunce in terms of techie stuff). Do you need to register or something with bittorrent? I found when I clicked on the item it does not appear to download. I did down load the DIgX thing. Many thanks. |
| |||
UKBeefy> First you'll need to pick up the bittorrent client at http://www.bittorrent.com (or if you're daring, try one of the many variations of it like Azureus) Next, once you've installed the program, go back to the link that Cai posted with the torrents. Choose which item you want from the list on the site by clicking on it's title. This will load a new page, then just click on the "Download Torrent" link. Go ahead and save it to your desktop and then open the file that the site downloaded to you... you're brand spanking new bittorrent client will pretty much handle the rest. NOW, if you choose the direct link to tesosterone boys, you'll be thrown to a page that requires you to enter a verification number before it will send you the torrent file... Once you've downloaded the video (you'll know since the torrent file itself takes all of 3 seconds to get) you'll be able to play it. (Since it's P2P you'll most likely be getting segments of the file out of order and it most likely won't be playable until you're almost done). So that's pretty much it, just make sure to OPEN the torrent file (first file you get) to actually start the download of the real video file. The torrent file is nothing more then really a pointer to where the tracker is located and what file you're getting. I hope this helps! Scott __________________ In a world of old memories... Sorry am being extra thick here.... If I click on the bittorrent thing that I downloaded onto my desktop, it won't open. If you click "open", it then searches for a programme to open it...what programme do I use? This seems so complicated! |

Done that - when I click on the file it then opens the BS player and then I get an immediate "cannot play this file". Hmmm Brian |
| |||
Hmm.. is another program associated with the bittorrent files? Or is BS a media player? The file you downloaded should have a .torrent extension I believe. Make sure that you're opening that file first to get the actual media file. Then, bittorrent will open and downloaded the real media file (which won't be playable until it's completely downloaded). For additional assistance, check out the FAQ on Bittorrent's page : http://www.bittorrent.com/FAQ.html They will probably have clearer instructions and such for first time users. Scott, Thanks very much for your help to date. Still had no success at all after reviewing the bitorrent FAQ so perhaps I'll just have to accept that I won't get to see the downloads. Bit of a pity. |
| |||
Can't open Is there something I need to download to open this file? |
| |||
I am currently on this torrent too.... 24.8% done, 2 days remaining :P hopefully it'll be worth the wait!! too bad p2p has to be so damn slow sometimes. |
| |||
How do you know if the Torrent file is downloading? I've clicked on it and not seen anything happening. |
| |||
If anyone can't be assed with Torrent then bare in mind you can get it from the eDonkey network as well. Thats where i got my copy from :0) Its named the same filename as mentioned previously. I'm sure you can no doubt find it on most of the p2p networks... Marc |
| |||
I couldn't find it on gnutella but once I have it downloaded I'll put it up on gnutella using my bearshare client every so often.... |
| |||
Just tried via the edonkey site and found it much easier to use than the torrent spy site - at least to for a newbie to understand what is going on. Thanks for the tip Marco. Brian |
| |||
when is this show on? |
| |||
hate to bump an old thread, but it needs to be done. i've long since had this program, enjoyed it, it's well done. motivates me to compete. but.. it's in some nordic language. anyone else notice this? is there a torrent available in english? that would be great. thanks in advance. |
