Snowboarding!

I know this question is in left-feild, but I have to ask...

There's a 'gay event' at mammoth mtn in CA, was wondering if anyone was heading up. Also wondering if they could give me a lift. I'm an advid boarder, but I havn't been able to secure a ride for this season.

Tried to go earlier during november, but there was a bad storm passing through the area. So, if anyone doesn't mind a guest w/ board and gear let me know.

Or if you know someone who knows someone =) I'd appreciate it guys, thanks.

If you're big enough that your muscles are their own insulation (muscles provide a lot of heat), you should snowboard with your shirt off just to see what people would do. I live in Colroado and skinny guys do it all the time.

as do I (live in Colorado).... it's too bad there aren't more buff snowboarders too, isn't there? Some are pretty hot but most of them are just twinkish...

I would imagine a lot of extra mass would be an issue when snowboarding. Seems like it would mess up your maneuverability pretty severely. You don't see a lot of 250-pounders on skateboards either.

true... very true... and something I can identify with and agree with.

Being a 6'4" 250lb person myself, I find that I'm not very good at "balance sports" like snowboarding, skiing, skateboarding, rollerblading, etc...

I've seen guys my size who are, but I can only imagine the years of practice....

I am pretty good at mountain biking though, but I grew up with it... and have ridden offroad in one way or another since I started riding my first bike.

yeah, one day I hope to find out for myself how easy it is for big guys to snowboard. Its something I've yet to try. Honestly though, I'm thinking I might be an end-of-the-day,back-at-the-lodge,hottub-and-beer kinda guy.

I love to waterski, thats a lot of fun to me. and Jetskis are awesome too. but when you start putting trees in the way with no real way of stopping... the fun factor just kinda dies. f=ma. need I say more?

lol I'm not 250 so I'll do the skiing/blading and meet you back in the hot tub. My legs will be sore btw.

Well I can add that being 270lbs can make any balancing task somewhat difficult I can still roller skate, but I've never been able to rollerblade (even sub 200) I think balance is just something you have or you don't... though I wouldn't mind trying snowboarding and such... but we don't see much snow here in South GA! at least nothing to board on .hehe

What was the original post? Oh right.. needing a ride... can't help, but best of luck finding a ride!
