The climax! The macrocosm reflects the microcosm. Damn, you're good. I think this is more enjoyable because it's presented in chapters, like a serialized novel. I love a cliffhanger.

Auntie Em!!! Fabulous chapter. I appreciate the attention to detail, the farming terms and practices that you use as if you have first hand knowledge. The other thing I appreciate is that you have stuck with your story. So many authors have a nice start but it never goes beyond a chapter or two. I guess a good climax requires some staying power! ;-)

Huh. So he breaks the dart gun has the bad guys effectively at his mercy, but then he just meekly goes along with their instructions as though he couldn't overpower them both and choke the life out of them if they don't tell him where Ryan and Farley are. And then doesn't tell Bob. And doesn't call the police. Or anything.

What a stupid kid. *shakes his head*

I said from the beginning that I wanted to prove to myself that I could finish. I'm starting to believe I will.

So, let me make sure I've got it-- you're still okay with a kid turning into a 700-pound muscle monster more or less over night, right? I guess I was stretching plausibility with the dart gun thing. Alternative plots cheerfully accepted.
