Your best muscle? For those of us who workout, what do you consider your best muscle? What have you gotten the most compliments on? What do you personally feel proud of developing and growing? |
| |||
ohhh... that's a tough one... You realize that this question requires that I actually take myself seriously enough to believe that I have a muscle worth bragging about! People seem to comment the most about my: Shoulders or Back. When I'm walking away from someone or when they accidentally/on purpose grab my shoulders is when I most often hear the "damn, you ARE a big guy, aren't you? Did you play football in school?". Incidentally - I hate the second one because I never was good at team sports. I am probably most proud of the gains I've made in my: Bicep/Tricep. My arms are about 2.5" larger than the first time I measured them and continue to grow. I'm able to preacher curl literally about 100lbs more than I once did. They're not NEARLY as big as I'd like (only a bit over 16" cold) but they're improving! My *true* "best muscle" is probably my thighs (upper legs): Years of mountain biking as a kid and later-on construction work and martial arts related wrestling/grappling work has made me (now) 28" thighs that feel solid and hard upon touch without flexing - even though they look just like chubby thighs. The only downside to this is that 17.5" calves which aren't too shabby look like twigs underneath them... how's that for an answer? I wanna hear everyone else's!! |

I have to say its definitely my upper arms. They tend to get big enough to make me look out of balance. I have had several times that I quit training them to let my chest try to catch up. And when they were getting past the 18" mark, I had to be really careful about buying dress shirts with enough width in the sleeve. __________________ -ottomun6- It's time to stop sitting on the sidelines and get in there! |

I had to say triceps - based on comments, etc. But I wish I could have said biceps! Oh well, as a famous British philosopher once said, "You can't always get what you want, but if you try, sometimes, you get what you need!" __________________ "You can never be too rich or too big!" |

Well, i'd say my best muscles are my biceps! So far, i've gained half an inch on them in 2 weeks! ^^ I'm very happy __________________ Bigger + Stronger = Better! 3XL= Way too small |

Shoulders based on other's people comments. Incidentily, I also have been also getting that you must be an ex-football player comment alot recently. People seem rather disappointed when they learn that I never had played team sports. |

Great responses everyone, keep em coming! Ottomun I love how you said "when they were getting past the 18" mark"... most people can't say that. How big are those guns now?? Notbigenuff, based on your profile pic triceps is understandable! greeneear88, that's incredible progress! Has anyone noticed? buffdoc, what do you tell people when they ask you that? Do you just tell them people tend to bounce off your shoulders in a crowd? I think tman was the only one to put neck/traps. I didn't even know if I should put that as a poll option, but I'm glad I did. Most people don't appreciate neck/traps as much as I do. In another thread I think we discussed which muscle we liked best and I remember people saying that a thick neck and big traps gives a savage look. I love that. |

They tell you that to increase the size of your arms you need to concentrate on triceps, so I did. Then I discovered how fun they are to work, how they quickly respond to training, and how cool they look in the mirror while doing cable triceps extensions. I guess it was too fun for too long because now I need to balance out my arms by hitting biceps harder. Oh, well. Triceps can also turn heads when you wear a tank top. |

Not really, Claygrant, but that's probably because i haven't been showing them off! They're not really defined, but I can notice the bulge when i flex! yeah...it's really great! __________________ Bigger + Stronger = Better! 3XL= Way too small |

Hi, guys! Been away from the home computer for a LONG time and playing catchup. I like this thread even though I've been away from the gym TOO long, too. I gotta say the body parts that get a lot of attention in public are my chest (which isn't huge for someone my height but my pecs create enough of an overhang to catch the eye and the occasional grope...could be because they're right at eye level for most folks but who knows) and my neck and traps (which people like to squeeze...when I'm sitting down and they can reach them). But, Clay...you missed one body part/set of muscles...THE GLUTES! Even when I'm not in the best condition (luckily any weight I gain goes to the middle and not the bottom) I get the occasional "nice ass" from guys and gals alike. And I've got to admit I don't mind a hell of a lot...I don't care how well proportioned a guy is elsewhere, if he's got a flat ass, something's just missing. Later! Lucas |

I knew I forgot something - Glutezilla!! And welcome back Lucas! |

T-man says it's my back, but lately I've been getting a lot of compliments on my legs/quads. Eitherway, I put my back down on the poll. |

B.U.M. Your back is hellish strong so no wonder he's all in favour of the back. I'll second that for him. I had to vote for my back as well. It's always been stronger compared to any other bodypart. When I cut, it shows the cuts the fastest and the lats are finally growing enough to produce little wings. |
