I wonder what warranted police to use a taser.

Probably the fact that due to his size and obvious strength, he probably could have taken them down. So they took no chances.

Shame, though.

A third man has died from being Tasered (in Bolton) and in the report this was mentioned

The IPCC is also probing how bodybuilder Dale Burns, 27, died after being tasered several times at his flat in Cumbria last week. Another officer used pepper spray during the arrest.

That last sentence was not initially reported at the time and no doubt people are googling "Pepper Spray Contents" looking to see if there is a chemical in it that can provoke an allergic reaction (similar to a wasp sting)

Sad story, I guess he must have been doing something to have been tasered in the first place but this should never have happened. Who would ever think that firing thousands of volts into someone could go wrong?
