Bodybuilder or physique competitor? With the new NPC physique competition, several guys I liked as bbers are now appearing in the physique category. Although smaller, sometimes the shift works. Matt Christener looks really hot as a physique competitor: Sean Royer actually looks bigger and fuller as a physique competitor: But I must say I HATE the board short thing! Let these guys show their ripped quads and hams! You know there's some good-looking muscle under there! |

I mean, let's face it. Some of the most muscularly developed bodybuilders are not the handsomest dudes around. If it's eye candy you want, physique competition seems to fit the bill! Personally, I like both! The more the merrier! |

Yea, these guys definitely look like they're aiming for a higher level of "good looks." So far each of these look better as a physique competitor than a bodybuilder. Perhaps these should be my new motivation? But what are these new rules? I hadn't heard of them before this post. Any articles on the subject? |

I am guessing that this new 'category' is for smaller guys that don't want to go 'hardcore'. They did the same thing with the women several years ago, so I guess that they figured they would get enough guys for this too. If I had more motivation, this is the category I would go for. |

Even if I was fit enough for this class, I wouldn't dare go for it with my habit of going overboard with things....... |

Some of the mass loss is unfortunate, but minor. I am loving the lack of bronzer and the water weight that bodybuilders try to avoid pre-competition seems to be a benefit to these guys. They don't have that emaciated look so, even though they're not super-extremely ripped, their bodies look healthier. Also, notice the lack of stiff posing and straining. Also, notice the REAL smiles instead of forced ones. There's a lot to think about here. There's a lot to ogle too! |
