Sky High-Kids movie with strength stuff I went to see Shark Boy and Lava Girl today... Ugh. The 3d glasses almost gave me a headache... The movie wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either... Okay it's no Oscar winner... But it had better acting than most movies that are available out there. What I was more annoyed with were the 8 minutes of commercials before a kids movie that had to do with cars and things not appropriate for children. I am complaining. The movie was long enough and then to take on 8 minutes of commericals, plus previews lasting 9 minutes, did not make for a happy bunch of young kids and families. My niece, who is 6 years old, even started to, ahem, complain... That's never a good sign. I don't mind the previews, but 8 minutes of commercials.. GRR... There oughta be a law... yeah.. they also had a preview of a movie tho for "Sky High" about a high school full of kid superheros. kurt russell plays a strong superman knockoff.. lots of strength and bear hugs.. heheheheh. i may enjoy that movie a lot! At one point in the preview Kurt's character hugs his son and you hear ribs cracking... The son hugs back, and Kurt's ribs crack.. I can't wait to find out more about the movie... There may be growth involved, but fuck I'm going to have to see this movie alone! |

There was one scene where the kids were being tested for status as 'hero' or 'sidekick' in that promo where they drop a car on them. One kid hulks into a massive, grey stone beast to catch the car. I saw the preview this morning (at Disney's movie palace in Hollywood) before 'Howl's Moving Castle.' |

The trailer looks a bit corny, but the strength seens look good. |

Jeez...I can see the pitch.... "Yeah...sort of like 'The Incredibles', but with _kids_ and _bitchin' special effects.... yeah...we'll get the boomer demo with Kurt Russell...you know...sort of an update of his old Disney movies...Yeah...it could work..." |

I cant believe it I cant believe I got a kick out of such stupid movie as sky-high. Something about a good kid in need of appreciation getting superstrong turned me on! Would have liked a lot more strength feats though, specially from russell's character... The boy who plays the son is a very good young actor, really something about him sorta turned me on though he's not my type at all... maybe because he's so gentle and innocent... I saw it on divx maybe gonna watch it on a theatre.... mutador |
