Measurements For Story Writers~

http://www.mm2k.com/bodybuilding-chart.html

I'm sure people knew about this, but this chart is VERY nifty if you want proportionate/accurate sounding measurements for your fictional musclemen. I figure I'd post it here anyway just in case, since it is story related (as in, using it to write a story).

Also, there should be a Sticky'd topic for story writing rules and resources. I realize it's the rules aren't needed, but resources (sure, you can google it) would be nice to have. It'd make writing muscle growth stories easier to write for some of the people who are newer to muscle-TF writing. I sure as hell wish there was one when I first started. ._."

Fascinating man. Thanks for posting. I once developed a Excel sheet that would calculate various measurements based off on size. I admit I used myself as the base model and ramped up by a % value. Of course I can't find this sheet now as measurements come a bit more "naturally" now. Regardless, this will prove useful for newer writers.

Well, small and big, but yeah, same dif. Though you can pick a number in between the numbers featured on the charts to come up with a decent sounding/proportionate set of measurements. Not every guy is built the same, after all. The only thing that stinks is the weight/height thing, but I suppose that's irrelevant for most cases anyway.

thanks for posting this link. i remember seeing it a while back, but failed to bookmark. now that has been remedied.

for years i was obsessed with collecting statistics for muscular guys and bodybuilders. i created my own spread sheet, which i still use today, with stats for guys of various heights so that i can keep my characters in the realm of believable...when that's what i want them to be.

I converted the charts to the metric decimal system for those who live in countries where we're used to it.

That's nice! That's two kinds of useful resources. Just toss up a detailed chart of muscle names/locations and then a resource thread could be doable.

Mdlftr will become famous soon enough
Bodybuilding contests as they are currently conducted are part freak show, part election and part beauty contest. They have almost nothing to do with health, aesthetic or, even in the case of natural contests, anything natural. Enjoy what you mold your body into but keep it in perspective. I hope this article helps.

Great final quotation from the article! Date on the article is 1996, but the advice is timeless!

Thanks for posting this link!
