Nathans hot dog eating champ I jsut watched the annual nathans hot dog eating contest, and the asian guy who won his fifth straight time this year was huge! He used to be scrawny, but it seemed like he put on a lot of muscle. He was wearing a muscle shirt and he looked so hot! does any one have a picture of him? |
| |||
Here he (Takeru Kobayashi) is in 2001, in 2003, and now in 2005. (Those with IE6 can view the MSNBC report.) He's got biceps now. |
| |||
I loved how he loved showing off his muscles. He was hot! |
| |||
in the clip i saw on this morning's news, after he won, he lifted up his shirt to show his 8 pack abs then he flexed his biceps and his abs and they just popped! last year he competed in the mid 120's and looked like a very fit gym toned guy. this year he competed in the high 130's and is just a ripped and bulging muscle guy. really hot! if anybody can find shirtless pix, that would be awesome. |
| |||
interesting, the cnn report says he weighed in at 150. but the story i saw said 139, so i'm not sure what his weight is, only that he is one studly and ripped muscle man. |
| |||
i think this is what you were talking about... id rather see him when hes not inflated though http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...uKobayashi.bmp |

A little guy's dream come true Quote:
This little guy has been around a few years and blowing the giant 300+ monsters away. From what I found, he was about 140 in 2003, 131 in 2004, and now he is packing 150 lbs of muscle this year!! I was blown away when he showed that bulging muscle gut of his. There was even a reporter that showed what 49 hotdogs and buns would look like mashed up in a clear plastic bag-- it just looked to big to consider it fitting in a little guy's stomach. On top of that, you have to consider that it weighs about 17+lbs!!...this little muscle guy wolfed down nearly 18 lbs of food in 12 minutes!! - or should I say that he sat down weighing 150 lbs and stood up 12 minutes later weighing nearly 170 lbs!! He made a real point to show his muscles off, so he has already been bitten by the muscle bug. I'm guessing that he is going to be getting larger over the next few years- and it will be a good bet that he will be sporting a larger set of muscles as he goes!! __________________ -ottomun6- It's time to stop sitting on the sidelines and get in there! |

borderline off-topic... ...but did anyone else catch featured artist Mariah Carey at the Macy's fireworks show?For her 3rd #;she had 6-pack abs PAINTED ONTO HER STOMACH!Anybody else notice? |
| |||
That's not just off topic, that's SCARY!!! Back to Takeru, the other post on him seems to be less popular than this one so I'll ask this here as well: Has anyone noticed that he looks like Great Teacher Onizuka? Maybe he's here to teach us all the hot dog muscle diet. |
| |||
So let me get this straight. There's a young, muscular guy who enjoys shoving shafts of meat down his throat?? Form an orderly queue behind me __________________ There are 2 rules to being a success in life: 1. Never give out all the information. |

Donnie sent me this link to more pics of Kobayashi-san who'd make a great image model for Nathan's: "Get Beefy with Nathan's Hotdogs!" |
| |||
The whole concept of a skinny guy packing it on instantly is wild!! I wonder what it like for him (Takeru) to get around for the next few days? I would guess that won't be needing any more food for a bit. It turns out that he is in other eating contests as well- 20 lbs of noodles and even a bit more for rice! It makes me remember stuffing myself through the years to put on a couple of pounds. And it also reminds me of an early memory of "Cool Hand Luke" - where a thin Paul Newman eats a ton of hard boiled eggs to win a bet. And Newman's stomach was HUGE as he lay moaning after he won. __________________ -ottomun6- It's time to stop sitting on the sidelines and get in there! |
| |||
damn... he IS hot and he knows it... isn't it? It's quite the contrast in that photo where he stands next to his competitor.... a huge 400lb black guy... and won.... his competitor looks on in disbelief - I would too!! |
| |||
Just a bump on this old thread to say that Takeru Kobayashi's eaten 67 hamburgers in 8 minutes at a recent competition. I remember reading an article somewhere (can't find it... sorry) that says he is disappointed he didn't break his record of 69 burgers, but blames it on having put on 9 kilos (about 20 pounds?) since last year. judging from the photos, and how muscular he's getting, I think it's not 9 kilos of fat... |
| |||
I remember seeing this dude on the "Glutton Bowl" or some show like that. I thought it was a stupid show...until I saw him haha. He was alot tinier at the time...but still quite lean. Now I see him and I'm like "OMG!" because he's buffed up soo much!!! So hot! |
| |||
he may have been complaining that all his muscle was interfering with his competitive eating, but it doesn't seem to have kept him from continuing to work out. according to the international federation of competitive eating's website, "an extrordinarily buff" kobiashi weighed in at 172 pounds at a recent competition. no pictures though. here's the link: http://www.ifoce.com/news.php?action=detail&sn=346 |
| |||
according to his website, www.takeru-kobayashi.com, as translated by the online thingy, his peak weight in the past year was 191 pounds, though he's dropped down to 176 for the hot dog eating contest tomorrow. his max bench is 379 pounds and squats 407....and he's only 5'-7". damn, that is hot! hope we get some good pictures this year! |
| |||
kobayashi is hot! check out his biceps: http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...f23f6d28c5e98c and the man has abs: http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...3052757311.jpg these pictures were taken this year. his website says he's down to 176 for the contest [from 191]. the news media are reporting his weight as 160 this year. either way, that arm is epic! |
| |||
oh, and he downed 53-3/4 dogs to win again. |
| |||
MTV followed Kobayashi in his prep for the 2005 contest. It was aired a couple of months ago in a program called "I am a Competative Eater." Among other things, it showed him working out. He said that both he and his father have an unsually low stomach which led him to this profession. He targets his workouts to actually move his stomach even lower to allow him to stuff himself more efficiently. He also lifts to burn off the massive amounts of calories he eats in a day. |
| |||
holy shit, is that really the same Kobayashi-san!? he looks like a totally different guy with those muscles...I mean, I was expected a little bit of muscularity, but he was fuckin' ripped in that last picture. |

No pics, but in the latter part of the article there are some interesting tidbits on his training regimen and his new website, the United Food Fighters Organization. (No English version as of this writing so check out the pics in the Japanese gallery.) |

Here's a comparison pic-- the big Kobayashi versus the skinny one. All that eating and lifting sure made a difference! The Japanese website says that he's thinking of entering bodybuilding. Go for it, Kobayashi! http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h6...shiCompare.jpg |
| |||
Looks like Kobayashi's the type of guy for whom all that muscle is a natural fit. Maybe he'll stop this trend of skinny bishonen boys so that a new wave of real-life bara can take over! (I beg the pardons of the non otaku audience for my many anime fandom terms.) |
| |||
Found an old youtube video of him eating off with a bear, though he's not as big as he is now. The announcer comments on how fit Kobayashi is during this time period. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgqbCq_sxmo __________________ Ancient Proverb: Whatever doesn't kill you today will only make you sore the next morning. redkage |

I watched the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog eating contest this morning on ESPN. Kobayashi lost in a tie-breaking eat-off with Joey Chestnut. Kobayashi weighed in at 75kg [165 lbs] yesterday. He doesn't look as massive as last year, but I did see a press photo of him flexing his biceps and showing off his abs at the weigh in yesterday. Still hot, hot, hot. There was another competitor who is an amateur bodybuilder, 28, Dr. Something or other. He was pretty hot, too, but the ESPN cameras only had eyes on Kobayashi, Chestnut and Bertolli [I think that was the name]. __________________ falseyedee ~i *still* write muscle fiction~ ______________ my new website: www.falseyedee.com my new ebook, a short story, is available at amazon.com. all my books are at at amazon.com as both paperbacks and kindle ebooks: http://astore.amazon.com/muscleficti...ail/1452858519 for nook users, all 3 of my short story collections are available as nook ebooks! my first 3 books are available as PDF files at gumroad.com. www.musclefiction.com www.falseyedee.com |
