Status of picture uploading?

What is the status of picture uploading? I know the message says "not yet restored" but I could swear that several bandwidth-eating stills from commercially available animations have been uploaded.

I don't ask for myself--taken my muscle photo posts elsewhere (plenty of other venues available). But I, and probably others, sorely miss the ORIGINAL work of talents like O'melissokomos (who admittedly has another forum for his work) and others like Mutador, Dallas, Aikuchi, etc., etc. I hope they're not good-naturedly abiding by a policy that is no longer being enforced.

Would someone clarify please? And, if others miss seeing the work of these artists here, could they raise their voices?

all people have to do is upload their work somewhere else and use an image tag...its not that hard... Photobucket lets u use direct linking...

The picture uploading will most likely not be restored unfortunately. What prompted me to initially remove the photo viewing was that my web host had begun actively auditing this site's bandwidth overages. They had not done this in the past and I hadn't bothered to check it before.

You'd be surprised at how much site traffic burns up bandwidth every day here. If I go over bandwidth again for August, I would have to disable picture viewing again. I'm so sorry about all of this guys. I'm actually going to have to go and prune (delete) old threads as well so you should go and save the photos to your drive that you'd like to keep. I think I'm eventually going to have to remove or relink the photos posted on threads here to Photobucket or some other free host. This site is just getting too popular (a good and bad thing).

Because Otkuman's (hope I got THAT right) images showed up so seamlessly and gorgeously within his posts (as opposed to other peoples'== since the ban==that show up as links), I ASSumed they were uploaded here. Sorry for that. Clever feature of Photobucket.

I actually succeeded (miracle) in setting up a free Photobucket account a few days ago, so one of these days maybe I'll use it!

BTW, people here are very tolerant and patient in explaining things to non-techies like myself-- thanks for that (unlike the terrifying Fred, the Administrator at GMPics, where I've taken my photo posts).

No problem... I know how much a site can cost (I work for a pretty big one myself with a few thousand members and users daily), so i completely understand this issue...

And to let other members know...You can make multipile accounts with photobucket...and each can host i think either 200 or 500 pics a piece... so it is well worth it...plus its free!

Hmm...well, I already have a Photobucket account, but I didn't think to use that, since I figured they wouldn't allow my, um, particular kind of images. I just checked their policies, and they do state that "offensive or pornographic content is prohibited."
