Music choice

I know music choice is important when you workout, you want something that gets you energized.

So curiosity, why type do you listen to?
The most popular ones I hear of are metal, and techno. Metal for the drive, techno for the heavy bass that keeps timing and rythmn.

mostly rock, but now and then I'll have random stuff in there. I've even been known to have instrumental pieces, like the kind of music you hear on a movie trailer for some "epic" movie. That kind of music can really put me in the zone

Usually has to be some sort of "fast paced" music and damn near anything but techno.

For me, there's just two conditions - I need to like the music, and it needs to be what I would call "active" music. Music that you feel like you could get up and dance to, or that makes you want to move. I've actually been trying to come up with suitable classical music fitting those conditions, to add to my list of songs (not just classical).

^^ have you ever heard "explosive" by bond? They play violins and cellos I think. It's classical sounding but I think it has that get up and dance feel you mentioned.

Yeah... no, that's not classical. Not that I'm saying it's necessarily a bad song. Just not classical. It would be better classified as Violin Rock (don't know if that's actually a real term, though).

It also sounds remarkably like the theme song to X-men (the 90s cartoon, not the recent movies).

Haha fair enough. I'm a rock junkie so I really like it when it gets blended with other genres. I can enjoy strict classical. Maybe not to work out to heh...
