Oreo and Gay Pride Anyone see the picture that Oreo ran on its Facebook feed yesterday? For those that didn't, Oreo posted a picture of one of its trademark cookies with seven different fillings, each in a color of the rainbow. This was likely a way to show support for the Gay Pride Parade. Soon afterwards, hateful comments about it began appearing on Facebook and Twitter coming from the usual "Christian" bigots who see homosexuality as either a mental illness, a sin, or both. Now, I use scare quotes around the word Christian because these people who use the Bible to preach hatred of another person, regardless of his/her sexual orientation, are not acting very Christ-like. While I am not Christian, I feel embarrassed for those Christians who actually follow the teachings of Christ. It's comments like those that are the reason people like Matthew Shepard are dead. But, enough about my feelings on the subject. What are yours? __________________ Rule 34: If it exists, there's porn of it. If not, it will be made. Exception: You can't invoke rule 34 on itself. |

Oreos are (even more) awesome. Bigots need (the REAL) Jesus. |
