Muscle Sighting: Melvin Anthony

I was walking through the mall today and saw a huge specimen of a man from behind. He was sitting down, wearing a white tanktop, with an absolutely enormous back. The combination of his shoulderand biceps looked like 2 bowling balls stuck together. As I came around from a closer look from the front I thought it was pro bodybuilder Melvin Anthony but I wasn't quite sure. I've seen Melvin compete in person several times and he puts on a great show. He always does some slick dance moves on stage. Because I wasn't 100% sure it was him (and because I'm a bit shy) I didn't say anything. But checking pics now I'm positive it was Melvin. Huge.

You missed a thrill.

"Uhm, are you Melvin Anthony?"

Those words would have probably to a big smile on his face and a fantastic experience for you.

I remember when I met Dennis Newman. Like you I was too shy to walk up to him but I did stare and I let him know it. He was at my gym training that day and no one else in the gym seemed to pay him any attention at all. Realizing I was a fan, and shy, he came up to me and struck up a conversation.

It was a morning I'll always remember!

Dave.

Vic Martinez is also very approachable; he's at Steel mainly but he's been at 19th Street Gym from time to time. Very nice guy, warm personality.

Damn, that would have made my day too. There was something special that I always liked about his physique, simply awesome to stare at.

Something he never got credit for...

...Dennis Newman was to deltoids what Tom Platz was to thighs. He set a whole new standard.(...as Eddie Robinson to biceps;Sergio Oliva to triceps&chest/waist differential;Mike Matarazzo to calves;Lee Priest to forearms;Arnold to ribcage;etc....)
