Gym Sightings

i don't know if this will be as enjoyable as the regular on the street muscle sightings, but here it goes:

yesterday i had go in and do chest and this short guy comes in, hispanic about 5'- 4" -5" 18 - 25 (i'm bad with guessing age) and very attractive (especially the eyes). black tank, brown athletic pants (the kind w/ a zipper down the leg and cuff to the ground). his chest was at least as big around as mine (40 something inches) or a tad bigger (and definately curvier) and a waist no more than 28". arms were at least 17" and judging by the naked women tatooed on one of them i would say he was straight anyway, i'm on the wide chest machine when he takes the bench directly in front of me to do skull crushers (heavier weight than i can do too). strange but he layed his head not on the end closer to me but the opposite which made me have to look away even though no one could see my interest. oh almost forgot after each set he would turn around and do some bicep curl i've never seen before and when he rested i got a nice lat view. the 'worst' part, though, was the inevitable moment when our eyes met. funny, it felt different than with other guys, i geuss it's because most of the other guys i'm not attracted to.

if you all liked this then let me know and i'll tell you about the
'fat' guy.

so someone is interested in the 'fat' guy huh? well, i've only seen him twice, the first time i didn't really notice him (not really into fat guys) until i saw his arms at least 22"-23" and hard as rocks! they're also bigger than the guns of the biggest bodybuilder there. i would guess that he's got about 25-40% bf and is maybe a curl jockey i.e. not a bodybuilder and not a power lifter (but i bet he's as strong as one though!). can't really give a thorough discription other than black, 5'-6" - 5'-9" tall - i suppose that's what happens when all you can see are a couple of cantalopes attatched to bowling pins!

Gym Stud...

Just back from the gym: chest, shoulders and triceps today. First day in the gym in a few weeks, but I've been working out at home with fair regularity (3 sets of 15 crunches, pushups, and supermans, 2-5 nights a week, + sun salutations and chinups/pullups in the mornings, plus I got in a shoulder workout and a forearm workout, and I've been working on posture with advice from my chiropractor).

I was pleased to note that my aerobic strut on the elliptical trainer did not falter, even though I've done nothing aerobic-specific for about a month. 15 min 70 rpm and 3 minute cooldown at 50 rpm.

A genuine bodybuilder was working out today, amazing condition, white, I'd have put him somewhere in his 30's, possibly a little younger than me, wearing a torn-out t-tank and a baseball cap, outrageously broad shoulders with big traps, deep back with crazy-wide lats, wide, well defined pectoral muscles, big shoulders and arms, great calves though not quite symmetrical with his upperbody size. While he was no pro-category, the man was in competitve condition, a different breed than anyone else in there. I'd guess him at around 5'10", maybe 210-230?, hard to guess, very lean, conditioned pounds. smooth, but not shaved, skin. Dark hair with a thin-groomed beard. Nice to look at.

I kept my eye on him as he did shoulder work, he moved into the free weight area to do some standing shrugs on a smith machine (I think). He was working out a dilemma: six 45-lb plates fit on each side of the machine, lessee, that's 12 X 45, or 540 lbs. Then he was trying to balance 2 more plates on top of each side (erm, another 180 plus the original 540 is 720 frikkin' pounds. Let's just say the dude was strong.) Well, he was having difficulty keeping the four plates that wouldn't fit on the spindles on top of the horizontal stacks: each time he tried the shrug, the plates on top would topple off. I debated internally about going over to help keep them balanced but I resisted, I guess out of old unwarranted fears. Anyway, I ducked into the lockerroom to grab a towel out of my bag since I was starting to throw off the holy living waters, and when I returned, another guy was doing what I'd considered, chatting him up, trying to figure out how to help him. He was still unable to get the weights to stay up, since there really needed to be a spot on either side, but I still resisted going over to help. Eventually, he decided against using the extra plates on top and satisfied himself with the spindled weight, and looked mighty fine doing that, let me tell you. As he finished unloading his plates, I found the courage to approach him.

"Can I ask how you usually train traps if you're stronger than the machine?" He smiled and spoke in a friendly, helpful way, exlplaining how he usually used the upright squat rack, where he could load more weight, or the hack squat rack, where he did some version of one-armed shrugs. I was having trouble following his track since I was paying half of my attention to my body, which was trembling in the lower extremities, a probable physical expression of the fear I'd been struggling with in the first place. Now, talking to the big friendly guy I could show my body no harm would come to it, but the shakes continued until I stopped the conversation, which ended with a suprise: I asked how long he'd been bodybuilding, and he said he'd only been training for 2 1/2 years. I must have given an incredulous "wow" or something, I just know he reacted with a "yeah, that's what everybody says."

Now the clincher. I asked him how old he was. He said he was 22! I know I said "Wow, that's really impressive" and my brain was kind of reeling, taking in his size, and his condition, and his friendliness, and his age, and I was in this happy, basking mood just being so close to this superman. We went our seperate ways, and he went on to do some leg work (which he was pretty vocal doing on his final 2 or 3 reps of each set, with a loud, sexy, breathy moan.)

Another big guy, though not conditioned like the shrugger, wanted to work in with me on the incline bench. He was young, blond, handsome, a little distracted with his i-pod, but very friendly, helping me load and unload plates, letting me know he could help spot if I needed, even though I was rather self-consciously moving rather light weights (I was benching with 75 lbs, and he was benching 185.) Finally, he introduced himself as Curtis, and I returned the gesture. Sweet.

One other guy worth mentioning, a tall young man, maybe 6'2" or 6'3", with a slightly dorky nerd-jock face, but awesome calves (best in the room) and thick and strong arms and shoulders. I saw him doing military presses with 70 and 80 lbs. dumbells, with a little assistance from others. All in all, it seems like a good cameraderie at 24hour Fitness.

May it continue!

Wonderful story, flexicon. 3 for the price of 1. Plus it's reassuring to know that there are nice people out there on the gym floor. Let that inspire you.

Good to hear you're back working out. Keep up the good work!

just finished my arm workout tonight and i know i'm strange but i wish i had went earlier in the day before all the beef came out - with the beef comes all the fat , i.e. a crowded gym. anyway - i really need to start giving thes guys names, let's see (name will be steriotypical per ethnic group)
1. leon:25-30 5-6" - 5-8" curl jockey (note i'll only talk about curl jockeys who have some nice size and shape to their arms + a halfway decent upperbody) always has b.o. usually with some chick, but i don't think she's his gf.
2. korean guy: (for some reason the koreans i don't tend to engrave in my memory the way i do the others) at least 25% bf.
3. guzman: big eyes but still attractive not that big but pretty strong. was training with
4.julio: 5'-6" maybe, much beefier, darker skin.
then there was
5.armondo: 5'8" or so. ectomorph but built. nice firm buttocks (don't you love that word?) mostly upperbody but not really a curl jockey. he's one of the hottest guys at my gym.
6. saw a flash of one latin hunk as he was leaving, don't remember who he was but he looked bigger than before. def on of th efew competion guys there.
7.little jose: mentioned hem in a couple other threads so i'kll just say he was sooooo hot! and sign off.

Thankfully no... He wasn't very built.

It was still a shocker.

Sadly I have to act mostly "hetro" at work.. A few coworkers have guessed... though.. From how I gawk at the bois in the gym attire...

sitings for this past weekend: saw tall, lanky black guy who reminds me of jimy "jj-dynomite!" walker on steriods i think he's gay (one of the first times i ever saw him it seemed like he couldn't stop coming around me in an almost rude/careless way). anyway, he has great arms and shoulders.
also saw a new white guy who was abs-olutely hot, but he left right after i showed up.
oh and don't know if i've talked about "gin il kim" he's the second largest bb'er. he notices me now - no other recognition other than looking me in the eye when i happen to scan in his direction (5' away from me) it's kinda wierd but it seems like only the straight guys notice me. anyway, i digress, he always looks like he is a couple of weeks out from a competition
also "little jose" was doing his chest (1-arm cable cross overs) boy was he looking scrumdiddliumptios! i think i'm turning into a breast man

jeff kwan: 21 y/o, 5'-7" - 5'-9", 185-200, biceps and triceps and pecs oh my! he usually works out with his buddies (3or4) usually wears a long underwear shirt that is stretched to the max by his 18" arms. have you ever seen young asians with huge arms? anyways, after he's warmed up he takes the shirt off and his pecks almost seem to fall out of his grey tank. he's pretty strong and very vocal when he's giving a spot - has a nice sexy voice too. watching him do cable crossovers was real nice too.

el rojo (the red in spanish): mid-late 20's, 5'7-5'11, 200+. he has a patch of hair in the back dyed red, hence the name. i'm about to do deadlifts when i leave to find some collars, i can't so i come back and he's cooped my stand i little silence o.k. look in the mirror and he begins. when i was in college a girl once told me that she didn't like latino guys because they had no butts, i think she woudn't have minded being with this one later, i'm side extensions and he comes behind me (get your mind out the gutter!) and does cable crunches then comes next to me and does calf raises. oh his arms are about 18-20" and once i even caught him checking me out. if only he enjoyed it in the same way i enjoyed checking him out

Ok,

so we have a habit at my gym of making up nicknames for everybody."The Hulk"is a RAVING beauty!Late 20's,wavy hair, long lashes, classically handsome features.Big,full muscles!Pecs, arms, butt.A bit light in the calves, but we forgive him.Must have been a football star in college.Always talking about the"glory days".Loves training other guys, usually smaller than him.But lately,he's been working out with"Superman"!Black, curly hair. The kind of Italian who looks like he always has a tan.About as big as Hulk.Same age.Usually wears a muscle-T slit down to the lats;so you get a sweet flash of pecs!TODAY,Hulk is doing cable-crossovers,body arched forward, getting a good stretch.Out of nowhere;Superman mimes a huge uppercut haymaker;inches from the Hulk's protruding jaw!It may not have meant much to them;but it made my day!Such a great comic book moment! The names fit!!

Saturday:
"derrick": 6'-3" at least 250lbs, 2nd biggest guy at my gym, would be biggest if he was 6" shorter. very skinny legs, oh they're huge but there also like 5' long so...i think we can make an exceptionin his case. but decent calves and he always wears tight and short shorts that always fit just so...
he's tan (turns red while doing his sets) stubbly goatee, and is very very very loud. yesterday he and some black guy who would have held my undivided attention if "derrick" wasn't there were doing some strange shoulder exercise. when i went over to ask him about it he was pretty cool - excuse me, sweaty. i hope i get to talk to him again!

Sunday:
rather uneventfull morning until "hollywood porn star" (it was on the back of his shirt) strolls in and warms up with 2 45's on each end of the bench press. he looked off season with pecs out to here! no less the 21" guns and a small behind - actually he looks almost like acartoon caracature. anyway, he was a tad loud once he put on that 3rd 45lb plate. after bench press, db bench, and flys he goes upstairs and a while later comes back down for tricep push downs with every single plate in the rack - excuse me while i get s drink of cold water...o.k i'm back, now after each set he would switch to 1-arm bicep curls with a much lighter (but no less impressive) weight. all the while he's doing his arms he's loud, hot, and bulging. i still don't know how i was able to deflate so fast by the time i finished my forearm curls - and stay deflated as he was checking out his arms in the mirror. oh, i forgot some stats: 5'8-5'10, 250lbs, either black or latino (bbcap over face).

you must excuse my excitement at the gym, i go to 24hrfit (no barechests, few competion size bodybuilders, etc.)

started to post this one in the muscle sighting but then i remembered i wrote about el rojo here. the other day i go in to do legs and he was there, in biker shorts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i mean the man was so huge he was turning heads everywhere he went. with pants he looks like a pretty decent curl jockey who remembers that he has leg muscles too, but in them tight tight tight tight shorts he sure was bottom heavy (no pun in tended). on a side note he noticed the weight i was using and joked that i must be in competion with him. god i just can't stop thinking about him.

am i the only one who has any interesting sightings at the gym? today i was finishing up my chest on the cables when get some water 5 feet away. as im returning a tall black guy came over. i told him he could work in. his form was different in every rep so i didn't copy his moves. he was about 6 feet tall or so, bb cap, tank top (white i think), shorts. really thin, no thats the wrong word - small framed. his back was o.k. skinny legs (he did work out his calves) very nice pecs and a set of arms that belonged in flex or muscle mag. his muscle bellies were very short and round creating arms so big you have to rimind your self about his weak points. oh and did i mention that he was pretty shredded and vascular, not to mention HARD. i think i stayed in the gym for and extra 20 minutes at least.

Dave...

I've worked out inconsistently for the past six months, so I see a few surprises when I bump into some old gym acquaintances. This evening I finally dragged my butt to the gym. I saw a familiar looking guy there who was working his triceps at one of the cable machines. He's about my height with short dark hair, a mustache and some nice mass underneath his long sleeve shirt which emphasized his WIDE shoulders. The mass on his traps and in his arms caught my attention. His smile and six o'clock shadow were icing on the cake.

During breaks between sets, I chatted with him to figure out how I knew him. It turns out that his name is Dave, and that I talked to him at the same gym almost two years ago when he had a noticeable belly but still had some beefy mass. At that time, he had little time to work out since he had two kids, a wife and a job that left him little free time. Dave stopped seriously bodybuilding after having a family. He used to compete in bodybuilding in his teens and twenties. But, Dave looks a lot different now. When Dave and his wife separated two months ago, he started working out again. Now, he wants to get in shape in case he starts dating. Dave no longer has a belly and his upper body has all the right bulges. When I asked if he's "on," he responded, "As the driving snow is white." He said that he hasn't lost weight in the past few months, but he has lost a lot of fat. His weight still hovers around 225 lbs at a height about 5' 7". Dave mentioned that a lot of people have noticed his changes. I commented that it must be pretty tough to be separated from his wife while being horny from the gear. ;^)

If I'm lucky, maybe I'll see him again with a short sleeve shirt or less. If only...

I was in Columbus this past weekend for the Arnold Classic, and we went with my friend Alan to work out at the World downtown. There were some good sightings: a big wide shrt guy in a Georgia Bulldogs tee doing triceps, and a very handsome man with drop-dead gorgeous legs. We were doing chest and shoulders, and Alan and I were talking when he says, "did you see Ronnie Coleman come in?"

Sure enough, maybe fifteen feet across the floor, clad in white from head to toe, topped off with a white do-rag, looking like a huge lopsided marshmallow, was Ronnie C. himself. Unfortunately, he was in sweats, but there was no mistaking his massive back and legs.

Ronnie was working lats. He started with pulldowns, and I have to admit, his form sucked: yanking and pulling with his arms and swinging all over the place. I guess when you're at the top of your field, you're entitled, but I was surprised. He went on to do cable rows, pullups (his form was better on those), db pullovers, and when we left, I think he was doing bent rows. On the way out, Dan Decker and his fabulous biceps was just coming in. I wanted to stay for a few (hoping it was Dan's arm day), but we had dinner plans.

Ah well, there's always next year.

Saw Decker at the FitExpo last month. He was manning the Ironman booth. Yes, his biceps are truly amazing. I'm curious to ask Hulkmuscle, on your way out were you able to check out Dan's aquamarine eyes? I've never seen eyes that color blue before. And they're real to boot! This guy looks sooo much different in person.

I noticed Decker's eye were blue, but I was maybe 20 feet away. He was at the Expo with Rob Kreider. Made a cute couple. As they came in, Armin Scholz walked by (he's much taller than I thought he'd be), so I got diverted.

Armin Is A Beast

I know what you mean. It's one thing to see these guys displayed in pictures in this forum, it's quite another to see them in person. They're like great ships turning at sea. It's almost unbelievable how some guys can get so huge. It's like seeing something surreal. I never get used to the experience.

Kinda sorta speaking of which, if you go to Dan's site, and click on the "Updates" link, there's a gallery of Dan at the 2006 Arnold Classic. Many of the pix feature an attractive man along with Dan. He's got bright blue eyes, appears to be pretty tall, and quite frankly the size of his nose got me a-wonderin' what else is big on him. Just curious whether that's a good friend of Dan's, or a "Good Friend" of his.

Chi-town,
That guy you mentioned in many of the pics on Dan's site is Ron Stone. On Ron's site, there are many the same pics with descriptive "tags" on them.

Dan & Ron...

When I was at the FitExpo about a month ago, I was looking at display material at the Ironman booth when both Dan and Ron showed up. It was a bit comical because Dan walked right up to me and asked if this was the Ironman booth. I looked up from my reading material and began to visually acknowledge the blazing signs all over the booth and said, "I think this is it," nodding at all the Ironman signs. We both chuckled.

I then asked him if he was Dan Decker and we exchanged introductions. Dan was very personable and engaging. When I asked about where he gets all of his stuff to sell on EBay, it was Ron who immediately chimed in by saying, "Estate and garage sales."

I wouldn't go as far as to suggest a relationship beyond business with these two. However, what I found odd in the whole thing was that moments later Dan left the booth and Ron offered the following unsolicited information to me: "Dan had to go and let his girlfriend into the exhibition hall." Apparently, she did not have a day pass and it seemed like this information was being unnecessarily "broadcasted." There was just a slight hint of "long suffering" in Ron's declaration.

Make of it as you will.

Thumbs up Saturday Morning Muscle

Due to some family complications, I was struggling with being able to work out this morning. I'm just getting back into a regular workout routine and was determined not to miss today's workout.

I went to the gym (not too crowded on a Sat morning) and had a wonderful surprise. A former NCAA and NFL football player whom I had met in a gym in another city was in town for a special function at his university in my town. He said that he thought he recognized me. Anyhow, he's about 6'4" and a lean 255 pounds (about 115kg). He's got the build of a pole vaulter--very muscular and still lean. My jaw was dropped after I witness him smash through numerous sets of 355 pounds on his bench press. He then took off his sweatshirt to reveal two massive arms --it was hard to get a look at his chest.

I've tried to look for pics on the web as I was sure I'd get questioned about him. I haven't had any luck this far. Anyhow, my workout was great and seeing him was just the cherry on top.

Have a good weekend~

Bo Dixon (lookalike?) at Gold's Campbell

This afternoon I worked out my legs at Gold's Gym in Campbell, CA where I saw a guy who looked like Colt's Bo Dixon (a.k.a. muscledbrute on bodybuilding.com; see http://forum.bodybuilding.com/photo/...um/014_10A.JPG); he also has a listing on bigmuscle.com under his Colt name. Bo was working out with a local muscle guy named Matt, who looks like a bald gorilla. Bo wore his trademark glasses and beard with a light blue shirt and blue close-fitting shorts. I took a gander at him between sets. He really does resemble his online photos. I didn't talk with him because I wasn't in the mood to socialize although I did appreciate the view.

Working out sometimes has its rewards.

Talking For those of us who live in northern climes....

...I think that half the point of going to the gym is getting to see pumped-up flesh"off-season".

I know this post is old but Wow this guy is probably among the hottest men in my list! Definitely the ressemblance to Bo Dixon is amazing, both are fucking hot, the glasses are the finishing touch

Have a good gym sighting every now and then but this one was one of the best. Guy in his mid-late twenties was training another young guy but he wasn't wearing the typical personal trainer uniform, so maybe he was new.
Very short blond hair, masculine square face but what struck me was how thick he was for his age. Huge arms, very thick pecs and a nice round solid gut (my fav!) all about to burst out of a super tight khaki t-shirt. Long workout pants made it hard to judge his legs exactly but seemed big too. And the best part was his swagger. He walked with his arms stuck out like his lats and tris were so big he couldn't help it, and he had to lean back slightly as he moved around slowly as if to balance his heavy torso. His attitude and walk made his impressive thickness all the more attractive I thought.
Then I saw him a few days later at an Italian restaurant again in a super tight shirt. Now I know the secret to where he gets his thickness from!
Hope I"ll see him again!
